Windows 11 beta for local dictation, available for Intel/AMD (x64) and Snapdragon (ARM64).

This is an unsigned beta, not the stable Windows release. Windows may display an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning, and managed devices may block installation. Follow your device's security policy. macOS users should continue using the stable macOS release.

Download and install

  • Most Intel/AMD PCs: download Sagascript-Windows-x64-Setup.exe.
  • Snapdragon/ARM PCs: download Sagascript-Windows-arm64-Setup.exe.
  • If unsure, check Windows Settings > System > About > System type.
  • Quit any running Sagascript app, run the matching installer, launch Sagascript, and choose a dictation language. Speech processing is local; the initial speech-engine download requires internet access.

The MSI is an alternative installer; install only one format. The Portable executable is the desktop app. The separate CLI executable exposes command-line features and is not automatically added to PATH. See its --help output.

The matching SHA256SUMS-Windows-x64 or SHA256SUMS-Windows-arm64 file covers all four binaries for that architecture. Compare the chosen file with Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256. Checksums detect mismatched downloads; they do not replace a publisher signature.

Changes in this beta

  • A visible Transcribing… indicator remains after releasing the dictation shortcut.
  • More reliable language/model selection and Windows paste handling.
  • Empty transcription, capture failures, and paste failures produce actionable errors; recognized text is retained when paste fails.
  • Local timing diagnostics and a CLI benchmark support future latency comparisons without logging dictated text.

Validation and limitations

  • Native ARM64 and x64 candidate CI passed compilation, tests, lint, real transcription, and installer checks.
  • The owner tested Swedish and English dictation on Windows 11 ARM64 (Snapdragon X Elite) and reported successful results. Uninstall/reinstall and local CLI acceptance passed.
  • This was not a fully clean settings/model installation. Manual x64 GUI acceptance and the wider resilience/clean-device test matrix remain outstanding. Windows 10 and GPU acceleration are not supported by this beta.
  • No in-app Windows beta update installation is promised. Return to this release page for downloads.

Exact existing artifacts from candidate run 33963645741, built from 56cf3420f7d81ac2c423bcfee6c8961de03fcfaf (the tested merge of PR #185). The binaries report version 1.1.3, git 56cf342, built 2026-09-05. The beta tag distinguishes these Windows builds from the existing stable macOS 1.1.3 release.

For removal, quit Sagascript and uninstall it from Windows Settings > Apps. User settings and downloaded models may be retained. Report problems in the repository's issues with your Windows version, architecture, and this beta tag; avoid including private dictation text.
