Releases: MainMemory/AdvanceTools
Release list
v1.13.1
v1.13
This version will generate dummy background files for levels' chunks when extracting, which can be loaded in AdvanceBG to edit the chunks.
Note that collision is tied to the tiles, and these tools cannot edit the collision presently.
v1.12
This update fixes a slight issue where animated tile files would be slightly larger than they should be on extraction, and adds animated GIF exporting for foregrounds and backgrounds to BG2Img.
v1.11.2
This release fixes a bug where levels with less than 256 colors in the palette would fail to load in Tiled. Copy the appropriate tiled folder into your project to fix it.
v1.11.1
This release fixes some bugs in the MD To GBA Level Converter, as well as adding warnings for levels that exceed the tile or chunk limits.
v1.11
This update fixes some images being saved in the wrong place when using BG2Img, automatically copies the appropriate Tiled folder into new projects with AdvanceExtract, and adds a converter for levels from the MD games (or anything SonLVL supports) to the Advance games!
v1.10
This release adds a new editor for backgrounds, based on SonPLN! This enables art editing and importing, and should be more convenient than editing with Tiled. Note that it has not been thoroughly tested, so let me know if anything goes wrong (maybe make backups just in case).
v1.9.1
This release fixes some bugs with ring layouts when using Tiled. To fix your current projects, just copy the appropriate Tiled folder into your project and open and save the affected levels.
v1.9
This release fixes bugs when building ROMs, adds animation hitbox exporting to BG2Img, and introduces a new tool: PatchGen!
If you feed a project file to PatchGen, it will create a .sapatch file, which you can then use in AdvanceBuild in place of a project file to generate a modified ROM. The .sapatch file is simply a ZIP archive containing only the files that were modified from your project, plus some necessary metadata, which means they're safe to distribute and fairly small.
For people who only want to play mods distributed in patch format, I have included an archive containing only AdvanceBuild.
Note for modders: if you want to make patches, you will need to extract a new project for each game and copy the .saproj file into your old projects, as the patch format required me to add size information for each file to the project.
v1.8.2
Fix FG layouts being ignored when converting levels from 2 <-> 3.
