Releases: Mainkill1/Floggfy
Release list
Floggfy 1.1.0
Two ways to run Floggfy:
- version.dll: Automatic mode. Quit Spotify, place this DLL beside Spotify.exe, then start Spotify normally. The DLL creates SpotifyHistory.ini when missing.
- Floggfy-v1.1.0-Launcher-Windows-x64.zip: Launcher mode. Quit Spotify, remove Floggfy's old version.dll, and place Floggfy.exe plus Floggfy.dll beside Spotify.exe. Start Floggfy.exe with Floggfy, or Spotify.exe without it.
Install only one mode. Floggfy.exe automatically force-stops running Spotify processes from the matching installation, waits for shutdown, and starts a fresh instance with the DLL explicitly loaded. Other installation paths are left alone. To return to plain Spotify from a hooked session, quit Spotify completely first. Preserve your existing INI when upgrading; use the launcher EXE and DLL from the same release.
The current-item footer now preserves episode titles without music album/artist tags and separates episode identities to prevent stale decoder details. Quality uses actual cached playback state or a matched Ogg/FLAC decoder, never the configured target preference. If Spotify omits actual quality, that field remains unavailable. Episode playback is not an additional download format.
This release includes dynamic audio/connectivity/menu discovery, recoverable initialization, cached metadata enrichment, the connected-apps crash fix, and the corrected current-track footer without bitrate. Menu recognition does not depend on English labels; Japanese was live tested.
Native and full Windows suites passed. Both modes were live validated on Windows Spotify 1.3.3.264, including automatic shutdown/relaunch and the To Disk menu. Normal startup in Launcher mode left Floggfy unloaded. Older signed DLLs were checked for discovery locations, but older-client runtime, Microsoft Store installs and every language remain unvalidated.
The original cause of issue #2 on the reporter's system is not established; Launcher mode provides an explicitly tested alternative to normal DLL discovery. RC6 remains available.
The Automatic DLL and the DLL inside the Launcher ZIP have identical core bytes. The ZIP includes its binary checksum manifest, default INI, README and licenses.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC6
Adds an optional startup fallback for #2 and verifies localized menus for #3.
Floggfy.exeexplicitly loads the adjacent DLL when normal Spotify startup skips it.- Finds application entry and the Windows loader dynamically; restores the entry byte and detaches debugging before resuming.
- Keeps existing Spotify instances untouched and cleans up a failed new launch.
- Keeps structural menu recognition independent of translated File/Edit/View labels. Japanese live checks and Japanese/German/Arabic model regressions passed.
Native and Windows suites passed, including a System32-first startup reproduction and failure cleanup. The packaged binaries were live tested on Windows Spotify 1.3.3.264, including the Japanese menu and Downloads toggle. Spotify 1.3.1 from the startup report was not available for live testing; older-client runtime and every language remain unvalidated.
Quit Spotify and replace version.dll beside Spotify.exe. Existing INI settings are preserved. If normal startup skips the DLL, also copy the included Floggfy.exe beside them and launch it instead. Use the EXE and DLL from this release together. The ordinary Spotify shortcut is unchanged.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC5
Fixes the To Disk footer showing no song or the previous song.
- Refreshes the current track from Spotify’s cached player state once per second, without endpoint requests.
- Formats visible menu labels through CEF’s public FormatLabel callback, before the menu is displayed.
- Removes Bitrate. The footer shows Song, Quality, Format and Sample rate/bit depth.
- Keeps decoder details only when current track identity and quality agree; stale state stays unavailable.
Validated on Windows Spotify 1.3.3.264: first menu opening and consecutive track skips matched the visible current song. Native and Windows regression suites passed. Older-client live behavior remains unvalidated.
Quit Spotify, replace version.dll beside Spotify.exe, and restart. Existing SpotifyHistory.ini settings are preserved.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC4
Adds a read-only playback section at the bottom of To Disk:
- Song, Quality, Format, Bitrate and Sample rate, with FLAC bit depth.
- Size removed in favor of Quality.
- Current quality reads already-cached Spotify player state, including verified numeric quality enum values. No endpoint requests, service resolution or Spicetify installation required.
- Works with Downloads off. The menu reads a fixed RAM snapshot without disk I/O or waiting on the worker.
- Replay, seeks, separate title/timeline updates, ambiguous read-ahead and stale cache entries are handled conservatively.
Numeric bitrate appears when a complete decoded stream permits an average; unmeasured fields remain unavailable. Menu labels refresh when the submenu opens. Metadata=0 disables the cached-state source; validated decoder headers remain the fallback.
Validated: native/JavaScript and Windows regression suites, sanitizer checks, live five-row menu and cached Lossless quality with Downloads off. The audio library remained unchanged during that check. The quality enum mapping was checked in four Spotify DLL versions; older clients were not run end to end.
See README and VALIDATION.md for installation and support limits. Based on the upstream Soggfy work credited in the repository.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC3
Cached metadata repair
- Includes all contributing artists and album artists instead of only the lead name.
- Adds release date/year, label, copyright, ISRC and role credits when already cached.
- Reads existing renderer objects and local Spotify catalogue files in a background worker. No endpoint requests or external metadata services.
- Keeps explicit publisher credits separate from record labels and preserves current renderer artists.
- Bounds read bytes, decompression and cached lookups; damaged readable files retain ordinary tags. An exclusively held write log falls back to matching readable catalogue records, which may lag recent cache changes.
Native/JavaScript and Windows regressions passed, including CEF identity, separate album records, locked/corrupt WALs, wrong IDs, repeated block handles and expansion limits. The cache suite also passed AddressSanitizer/UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer. Live Spotify 1.3.3.264 received enriched metadata and retained connectivity. Existing Ogg/FLAC audio preservation tests passed.
Metadata=0 disables enrichment. Existing library files are not automatically retagged. Earlier version compatibility limits still apply; this is a prerelease.
DLL SHA-256: 153b7d52f4f49973efaedceee79e17348c186158f7d1ce3dd27524448c2a66e0.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC2
Fixes the Floggfy metadata hook crash when opening Connected Apps or the mini player.
Metadata collection now preserves Spotify's original CEF client and handler objects and hooks their existing callback functions. It continues to use cached client data without making metadata requests.
Validated on Spotify 1.3.3.264 with metadata enabled: Connected apps → View succeeded twice, the mini player opened, and cached metadata collection remained active. Linux and Windows regression suites passed. This does not establish that earlier intermittent freezes are resolved.
Install: Close Spotify, replace version.dll in its installation folder, and restart. Keep your existing SpotifyHistory.ini; the DLL creates a default file if it is missing. If metadata causes trouble, set Metadata=0 and restart.
See PR #1 for the code and validation details. Based on Soggfy.
Floggfy 1.1.0 RC1
Pre-release build for the dynamic hook and startup reliability changes in PR #1.
Changes
- discovers Ogg and FLAC hook functions without Spotify DLL hashes or fixed RVAs
- discovers the connectivity target by PE import name in normal and delay tables, independent of the provider DLL
- continuously verifies the live delay-import slot so Windows cannot remove the connectivity repair during resolution
- moves hook work out of the loader notification callback and retries recoverable initialization failures
- discovers compatible CEF menu structures at runtime without a version allowlist or English menu labels
- creates
SpotifyHistory.iniwhen missing and defaults the compressed-track buffer limit to 500 MiB - keeps disk publication, logs, and settings persistence off playback callbacks
Validation
Live tested on Spotify 1.3.3.264. The exact release DLL repaired the delay-import slot after Windows replaced it, installed the Network List Manager hook, applied the compatibility result, and kept established Spotify connections. Audio, metadata, and menu hooks initialized in the same run. The current 488-byte CEF menu model passed runtime size and executable-method validation, and To Disk was inserted without consulting the CEF version.
The production audio, connectivity, and menu-factory resolvers also passed against Windows-mapped Spotify DLLs from 1.3.0.277, 1.2.94.583, and 1.2.92.148. Their actual libcef.dll files load as CEF 146.0.10 commit 3504, export the required factory, and share the required menu/delegate ABI prefix with the live-tested CEF 151 client. The older clients were not run end to end.
A complete native FLAC passed independent full decoding with the official Xiph decoder, including source MD5, sample count, embedded cover art, and tags. Recording names, media hashes, and personal listening data are not published.

Floggfy 1.0
Floggfy 1.0
Native complete-listen Ogg Vorbis and FLAC history for Windows x64 Spotify 1.3.1.234 (CEF 146.0.10).
- Original compressed audio kept in RAM; native tagging embeds cover art and metadata into one audio file. No FFmpeg, conversion or partial scratch audio.
- To Disk menu: Downloads, Save Location, FLAC and Ogg. Independent INI switches disable menu and optional metadata integration.
- Default Windows Music\Spotify\Artists\Artist\Album output; lazy directories, stable filenames, conservative existing-file quality checks and atomic upgrades.
- Optional metadata reads only existing client state and caches. No Spotify endpoint requests, service construction, credentials or views opened to fetch data. Missing date/genre/lyrics are omitted.
- Background publication, settings persistence and bounded logging. Log=1 by default; Floggfy.log resets at 5 MiB. DebugLog defaults off.
Portable and actual Windows file/settings/log tests passed. Live complete Ogg and FLAC files were independently fully decoded; FLAC source audio MD5s were preserved, including 24-bit captures. See VALIDATION.md for verification, field availability and startup limitations.
Install the ZIP's version.dll and example INI beside Spotify.exe after backing up any existing proxy. Downloads defaults off; enable it from To Disk and start a fresh complete listen. See README.md for configuration, rollback and troubleshooting. Other Spotify builds and Microsoft Store installs are unvalidated; unsupported capture binaries fail closed.
