Chip Hippo Web Wiki

Welcome to the documentation for Chip Hippo Web — The Makers Workbench Port. This browser edition provides a self-hosted digital-logic laboratory, interactive article embeds, portable .chiphippo project files, and virtual test instruments.

Instrument guides

  • Using the Multimeter — measure DC voltage and current, resistance, continuity, capacitance, and inductance.
  • Using the Oscilloscope — a detailed beginner guide to connecting probes, scaling and positioning traces, triggering, Roll mode, automatic measurements, cursors, and troubleshooting.

Quick start

  1. Open the full workbench at /app/ on your Chip Hippo Web server.
  2. Build or import a .chiphippo circuit.
  3. Press Run to start the simulation.
  4. Open an instrument from Desk tools.
  5. Export the project to your own computer when you want to keep it. Visitor projects are not saved to the server.

The bundled oscilloscope lesson is available at /embed/oscilloscope-demo. It contains a 1 Hz clock and a 74LS74 divide-by-two stage, making it a useful place to practice with the oscilloscope controls.

For installation, Oracle ARM deployment, Drupal embedding, architecture, development, and the complete feature list, see the main repository.
