V2.5.0
----------------------------V2.5.0----------------------------
New Features:
- Download History Tab: Every finished and failed download is now stored in a dedicated history tab (title, link, format, quality, date, max 200 entries, survives restarts) – with per-entry re-download (fills the URL field and jumps to it), remove, and clear-all.
- Instant-Start: The UI is ready immediately on launch. Heavy background tasks (system check, remote QR, Discord RPC, update check) now run deferred via idle callbacks – no more blocking
yt-dlpauto-update on startup. - SponsorBlock & GPU Settings UI: The announced SponsorBlock mode/categories and GPU encoder options are now actually visible in Settings and wired up – SponsorBlock flags (
--sponsorblock-mark/remove) are passed toyt-dlpfor YouTube URLs. - Mobile Clipboard Paste & Go: Added a minimalist "Paste" button directly inside the remote web input field on
remote.html. Users can now read their mobile clipboard and paste music links with a single tap. - Emoji-Free Premium Iconography: Replaced all visual emojis across the application with clean, responsive vector-based inline SVGs and Lucide icons (Fire→Trending, Inbox→Queue, Wrench→Convert, Leaf→Eco, Tag→Metadata, Hourglass→Spinner).
UX Improvements:
- Smarter "Link Detected" Flow: Confirming a detected link puts it visibly into the download field and jumps to the Downloader tab. Extra links from multi-detection go to the queue; while a download is running, everything goes to the queue so the running input is never overwritten.
Remote & Mobile Upgrades:
- Secured Remote Control: LAN access to the phone remote (
:3030) is now token-protected. The token is injected server-side into the page, so loopback (browser extension) keeps working without setup and file download/delete endpoints are safe from path traversal. - Extension Robustness: Automatic
localhost/127.0.0.1fallback, request timeouts, action-badge feedback, plus Spotify and Apple Music link support. - Interactive Remote Setup Guide: The remote control card inside PC Settings now includes a detailed 3-step guide for scanner onboarding, a phone icon, and a live "ONLINE" indicator badge.
- Mobile Clipboard Paste & Go: Added a minimalist "Paste" button directly inside the remote web input field on
remote.html. Users can now read their mobile clipboard and paste music links with a single tap.
Queue & Reliability:
- Queue Reliability: Batch items are matched by ID (duplicate URLs no longer confuse statuses), stuck
downloadingstates repair toqueuedon start/cancel, duplicate handling uses a native dialog instead ofwindow.prompt, and adding links no longer blocks on metadata lookup.
Bug Fixes & Cleanup:
- Double-Plus Button Fixed: The queue "Add" button showed two plus signs (SVG icon plus emoji in the label) – emojis removed from the button texts in DE/EN/PL.
- Drag & Drop Zone Removed: The unused drop area ("Drop URLs here to download") including its handler and texts is gone.
- Config That Survives: App config now lives in
%APPDATA%(no more permission errors underProgram Files), corrupt configs are backed up (*.corrupt.bak) instead of silently reset, and format/scroll settings are actually persisted. - Installer & Tools:
yt-dlpupdates usewinget upgradefirst (no more false "already installed"), shutdown/lock-after-download now works on Linux/macOS too, and the manual updater no longer quits the app on Linux/macOS without installing. - Small Fixes: XSS-safe escaping of track titles/URLs, throttled Discord presence, Apple Music URL detection, completed translations (incl. missing
select_bg), unified GitHub repo links, hardened capabilities, fixed release workflow paths, and removed the unused drag & drop zone.
Version & Release:
- Unified Version Bump: Synchronized all project version identifiers to
2.3.20across package metadata, Tauri config, Cargo files, package lock, and visible UI badges.
