DLVR v0.3.0
NOTE: REQUIRES Monaka v0.2.0 to run!
A new (and first announced) release of DLVR for Dying Light 1/2/Beast!
It's in a very early pre-alpha state. Dying Light 1 is more or less playable, the others are rather jank. That said, you can do all of this:
- Run and jump around in stereo VR with a controller, keyboard or full motion controls
- Whack zombies with whatever weapon you've got in your right hand, and use whichever tool with your left
- Flip off your enemies with full finger tracking (
- Put your left controller behind your left shoulder to bring up the tool menu and use the left stick to select a tool. Same goes for the right controller and the weapon menu with the right stick.
- A 'dynamic' UI HUD, stuck to your hands.
And in Dying Light 1, specifically:
- The ability to use FSR from Dying Light 2 for added performance, if DL2 is installed.
Cinematics should work well in DL1. They have not been extensively tested in DL2 or Beast.
Keep in mind that this is very buggy, in the sense that it is very much playable end to end, but you will likely get somewhat frustrated. Temper your expectations, please! I hope that people might be able to help contribute and make it better.
I intend to improve DL1 and make it a smooth experience before I move on with 2 and Beast.
Changes (DL2 and The Beast):
- Added throwing, bow drawing and reloading with your hands
- Guns now shoot where your controller points
- Added "Disable zombie grabs" and "Disable view bobbing" settings (Game tab)
- The Beast: tool and weapon wheels now open by reaching over a shoulder
Fixes (DL2 and The Beast):
- Melee swings register hits much more reliably
- Melee weapons no longer have shortened reach
- The Beast: fixed flickering and a stuck view in cutscenes
- The Beast: fixed menus covering the whole view
Changes (DL1):
- Frame-warp is now the default rendering mode
- Added throwing, bow, grappling hook, lockpicking and reloading with your hands
- New VR button layout: B for flashlight, tap Y to heal, duck to crouch
- "Disable zombie grabs" moved to the Game tab

Initial release of DLVR for Dying Light 1/2/Beast.
It's in a very early pre-alpha state. More of a spectacle than a true experience. That said, you can do all of this:
- Run and jump around in stereo VR with a controller, keyboard or full motion controls
- Whack zombies with whatever weapon you've got in your right hand, and use whichever tool with your left
And in Dying Light 1, specifically:
- Put your left controller behind your left shoulder to bring up the tool menu and use the left stick to select a tool. Same goes for the right controller and the weapon menu with the right stick.
- A 'dynamic' UI HUD, stuck to your hands.
