OpenShelf 1.0.4
Fixed
- The wheel's shadow is no longer cut off. Its soft shadow used to stop at a
straight edge around the wheel, which showed on dark backgrounds. The wheel
now has room for the whole shadow, so it blends in seamlessly. Thanks to the
Reddit commenter who spotted it. - You can always see what a wedge will do. Finder's drag thumbnail covers
the centre of the wheel, so the file size and the hovered action now also
appear in a label above the wheel. - Arrow keys no longer switch desktops by accident. Control or Command plus
an arrow is a macOS shortcut (⌃→ switches desktops), so the wheel's arrow keys
wait until those keys are released, and the label says so.
Install
- Download OpenShelf-1.0.4.dmg below, open it and drag OpenShelf onto Applications.
- Open OpenShelf from Applications. It lives in the menu bar (the wheel icon).
- OpenShelf isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks once on first launch:
- macOS 15 and later: click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
- macOS 14: right-click the app → Open → Open.
- Or run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/OpenShelf.app
Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. See the README for how to use it.
