What's New

Fishtank.live camera recording

MSR can now monitor and record any camera on fishtank.live. All 17 Season 5 cameras are supported. Add them the same way as any other channel — select fishtank from the platform dropdown and enter a camera name.

Authentication is handled automatically. Add your credentials to config.ini once and MSR takes care of the rest — no manual cookie export, no token management:

[Fishtank]
email = your@email.com
password = yourpassword

All cameras are available by friendly name:

director dorm confessional balcony foyer
closet glassroom cameraman bar barptz
corridor kitchen jacuzzi dining market
hallwaydown hallwayup

Raw stream IDs (e.g. dirc-5, dmrm-5) also work directly.

Recording uses ffmpeg's HLS downloader against MistServer's HLS endpoints. The 24-hour JWT is obtained at login and refreshed automatically before expiry.

Bug Fixes

YouTube: Deno startup detection

MSR now detects Deno at startup alongside other dependencies and logs its version. yt-dlp uses Deno to solve YouTube's JS-based n-challenge — without it, YouTube serves short-lived stream URLs that cause recordings to silently drop out roughly every 15 seconds. If Deno is missing and YouTube channels are enabled, MSR now shows a warning at startup explaining the symptom and linking to deno.com.

Unprocessable .ts files no longer accumulate

When startup or background cleanup fails to remux a .ts file (e.g. because it's too small or corrupted), the file is now moved to PendingDeletion instead of being left in the Recorded folder. Previously these files would be retried on every subsequent startup indefinitely. They will now be swept up by the normal auto-purge schedule.

Requirements

No new required dependencies. curl_cffi (already recommended for Rumble) is also used for the Fishtank API's HTTP/3 endpoints — install it if you haven't already:

pip install curl_cffi

Deno is not a new requirement for this release, but if you record YouTube streams and haven't installed it, now is a good time — recordings will work without it but will drop out periodically. Download from deno.com.

Upgrading

Replace your existing script with Multi-Stream-Recorder.py and add the [Fishtank] section to your config.ini if you plan to use it. All other settings and your existing channels.json carry over without changes.
