Roamer Lens Guard 0.3.0 — Public Research Alpha
Roamer Lens Guard 0.3.0 — Public Research Alpha
This is the first release intended for external testers and open-source collaboration.
Important limitation
Lens Guard currently has 0 physically verified camera-wearable alert rules. It can scan nearby Bluetooth signals, classify documented and research evidence, collect public-safe hardware captures, and keep a local incident ledger, but it does not yet reliably warn that smart glasses are nearby. Device presence never proves active recording.
What is new
- Public GitHub contribution workflow and issue templates.
- Public-safe evidence export that redacts nearby Bluetooth device names by default.
- Field Test capture windows to reduce stale/noisy scanner history.
- 2026-08-07 retail field findings incorporated into the evidence model.
- Exact-name Quest 3 exclusion for the Ray-Ban Meta candidate path.
0xFEB8/2201Quest observations retained as research-only clues pending independent reproduction.- Meta company IDs remain vendor-level evidence only.
- The externally observed
META_RB_GLASSfingerprint remains non-alerting until reproduced. - Debug builds use
one.roamer.lensguard.debug, allowing them to coexist with the permanent release package. - Apache-2.0 licensing and public security/contribution documentation.
Help wanted
We especially want controlled public-safe captures from people who own camera-capable smart glasses, including Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, Snap Spectacles, XREAL, Rokid, RayNeo, Solos, Brilliant Labs and similar products.
Paired + idle is the highest-value state because it tests whether passive detection is useful during normal daily use.
