The first public beta release of Amonite Lite.
Highlights
- A more resilient Wayland session with explicit LightDM session integration.

Notes
This beta builds on the minimal Wayland desktop introduced with the first Lite Alpha and focuses on making that desktop more robust across different hardware and session states.
The graphical session now explicitly selects the intended Wayland session instead of relying on LightDM defaults. Applications are isolated into their own systemd scopes so that memory pressure in one application is less likely to affect the rest of the desktop.
The terminal can fall back to software rendering on hardware that cannot provide the required OpenGL capabilities, while the rest of the session remains unaffected. Thunar's terminal integration and the handling of localized screenshot directories have also been refined.
The Lite edition now consistently identifies itself as Amonite Lite across the installed system, installer and installation media.
The project continues to prioritize:
- simplicity;
- efficiency;
- security;
- privacy;
- maintainability.
This release is intended for evaluation and testing.
The Intel Pineview graphics configuration and the corresponding PCI access library fix are implemented, but have not been confirmed on the affected physical hardware.
Amonite Lite Beta may still contain bugs, incomplete features or hardware compatibility issues and should not yet be considered production-ready.
