Release list
1.01
Since v0.1.0. No game data is included. You need your own Xbox disc. To update an install you already imported, replace the program (and, on Linux, lib/) and leave data/ where it is.
Fixes
- SCREEN ADJUST's filter was not kept. Changing it and closing the game came back as SMOOTH. It is written to the system save as soon as you change it.
- The picture size on that same page was dropped the same way, and is written with the filter.
- Window mode, resolution, and aspect ratio are written when those rows change, so they stay after you quit.
- Saves are text now:
data/save/system.ini,directions.ini,replay01.initoreplay10.ini, plusconfig/display.iniandconfig/keyboard.ini. An older.savor.txtis read once and kept next to the new file as.bak. A damaged text file is left as it is.
Also in this version
- SCREEN ADJUST's FILTER row: OFF (sharp pixels), SMOOTH, CRT CURVED, and CRT FLAT. Left steps back and right steps on. DEFAULT SETTING returns SMOOTH, in a 1280×960 window at 4:3.
Windows (64-bit Windows 10 or 11)
- Download
sf33rdsxb-windows-x86_64.zipand unzip the whole folder somewhere you can write to, such as Documents or the Desktop. Not Program Files: the game keeps its data and saves next to the exe. - Run
sf33rdsxb.exe. The program is not signed, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. - The first time, pick your Xbox disc in the window that opens.
It needs a graphics driver with Vulkan or OpenGL 3.3. The DLLs it uses are in the folder.
Linux (glibc 2.39 or newer: Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 40 or later)

sudo pacman -S openal libarchive vulkan-icd-loader
- Ubuntu/Debian:

v0.1.0
The first release of the native x86-64 port of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, built from the Xbox version's decompiled game code (3s-decomp-ogxb, xbox-port-data at b52c63f). Everything the Xbox provided is native: SDL3, Vulkan (or OpenGL 3.3), OpenAL.
No game data is included. You need your own Xbox disc: an image, a zip or 7z of it, or the extracted folder. The first time the game starts, it asks for the disc and imports it into data/ next to the program (about 1.3 GB, sound effects included). A PlayStation 2 disc does not work.
