The desktop app now updates itself. When a new release lands, a quiet pill appears in the titlebar — update to x.y.z — one click downloads, verifies, and restarts into the new version. Update packages are minisign-signed and verified against the key baked into the app; no OS code-signing involved, so the first-launch steps below still apply to fresh installs only.

This is the last manual desktop update. Installs of 0.8.1 and earlier predate the updater — grab 0.8.2 by hand once, and every release after this arrives on its own. (Linux: the AppImage self-updates; the deb stays manual. Android keeps its in-app update check.)

Unsigned builds — macOS: right-click the app and choose Open the first time. Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway. Android: install the APK (allow unknown sources), then pair via the QR in the desktop titlebar.
