Inklet 4.0.0.dev12 redesigns the local composition editor as a focused figure workspace.

• Find named content in a searchable object navigator; edit it in compact Layout, Labels and Styles tabs beside a larger canvas.
• Explore the figure with fitted zoom, wheel zoom and pan tools, including Space/middle-button dragging. View changes leave authored geometry and undo history untouched.
• Use colour swatches alongside exact-value fields, keyboard shortcuts, a help dialog, persistent apply/discard controls and header save/export actions.
• Protect unapplied fields during selection, refresh, undo and file actions. Highlight and count pending changes; preserve native text undo and adapt the workspace to smaller screens.
• Retain schema 0.4, Python compilation, existing saved choices and matching SVG/PDF exports.

Validation includes 84 editor regressions, browser navigation/draft/zoom/pan/shortcut checks, real mouse pointer capture, mobile overflow review, strict documentation and installed-package checks, and the full cross-platform CI workflow including visual/performance review.

This is an opt-in prerelease; 3.1.0 remains stable. The editor requires a local Python session. The redesign preserves the existing named-content editing scope; arbitrary internal marks, camera editing and general cross-content relationships remain open.
