Inklet 4.0.0.dev14
Pre-releaseInklet 4.0.0.dev14 — development release
This preview adds reusable scientific figure authoring. 3.1.0 remains the
stable release; the general 4.0 roadmap remains open.
- Joint placement of registered annotations, legends and callouts, with pins,
leader routing, explicit candidate positions and collision failure reports. - Named spanning panels, measured headers, minimum sizes and drawing-area aspect
ratios. Panel factories rebuild around furniture without shrinking typography. - Shared-camera anatomy, registered source-coordinate cutaways, smooth lighting
and optional opaque surface sorting with path and marker occlusion. - Measured tags, arrows, immediate connectors, label columns, value tables,
clear-space legends and explicit graph stroke/arrow readability floors. - Exact-color batched vector matrices and numbered diagnostic SVG/JSON reports.
- Two original fly-connectome gallery figures with 15 and 17 panels, source
attribution, data verification, editable vector downloads and runnable recipes.
The complete community plate SVG decreased from 45,706,839 to 26,904,864 bytes
(41.1%) after matrix batching and automatic square-panel fitting. Both gallery
plates retain native text and contain no embedded raster images.
Validation
Full regression suite: 4,950 passed, 2 skipped, with 58 warnings.
API generation, strict documentation, all 26 visual comparisons, seven benchmark
cases, the 20-panel stress workflow, preset exports, gallery verification,
core-only and render-extra wheel installs, and installed-wheel Blender 4.2.23
template rendering passed. Archive contents and SHA-256 checksums were checked.
The source archive includes the new recipes/tests and excludes uploaded references.
Validation used Python 3.12.3 on Linux/WSL2. The remote platform/Python matrix and
second Blender release matrix were not run locally. See checks.json for skips.
Scope
Only registered annotations move; the bounded solver is not a general constraint
editor. Cut boundaries remain open. Opaque anatomy requires compatible filled
surface styles, while the default supports layered X-ray views. Graph floors do
not bundle edges. Batched cells lose individual nodes and can show antialiasing
joins at zero overlap. Diagnostic reports do not assess scientific validity.
Install this preview with python -m pip install inklet==4.0.0.dev14.
