Inklet 4.0.0.dev7 adds reproducible layout decisions to the shared composition framework. Save only changed placements and dimensions, then restore them after data, labels or content change.

• Composition.layout_overrides(reference) captures versioned JSON keyed by named composition paths.
• with_layout_overrides() returns an independently edited recipe and a reconciliation report, retaining live data and unedited source choices.
• Measured page dimensions, child sizes and attachment-point expressions survive saving, reopening and resizing.
• Missing targets and measured references raise by default; an explicit drop policy reports discarded entries. Malformed values and conflicting edits to shared definitions are rejected before application.
• The mixed plot/diagram/native-3D example now saves layouts, reproduces vector output at two widths, and reapplies decisions to revised content. See the illustrated layout guide.

Validation: engine/plot regressions, 26 focused layout tests, composition and runnable guide checks, reviewed visual baselines, seven performance budgets, strict documentation and package metadata, isolated core-only installation, and the full cross-platform release workflow.

This is an opt-in development prerelease; 3.1.0 remains stable. Layout editing is through Python. Browser layout editing, label/camera overrides, broader selection relationships and asset manifests remain open roadmap work.
