Lumen 1.1 — the pro update

Twenty-seven features that good editors have — pro trimming, a real mixer, GPU colour grading, proxies, multiple timelines, multicam, motion tracking, stabilization and more — and from this version on, Lumen updates itself.

Editing

• Roll, slip and slide tools; ripple trim, insert and overwrite on any track.
• In and out points: play, lift or extract the marked stretch, or export just that part.
• Copy, cut, paste and paste attributes; crop with rounded corners; freeze frames and speed ramps.
• Detached sound for J- and L-cuts, groups, and solo and reorder for tracks.
• Multiple timelines — another cut, or a vertical copy of the whole edit reframed in one click — and nesting: turn any clips into one clip you can grade, speed up or cut, and step inside to edit.
• Multicam: pick the camera recordings, Lumen lines them up by their sound, and 1–9 cut between cameras as it plays, with every angle live under the preview.
• Scene detection, stabilization and motion tracking — titles, stickers and masks that follow something moving, including a blur that follows a face.

Sound

• A mixer: a channel per track and a master, each with a fader, pan, live meters, an EQ you drag, a compressor and a limiter.
• Crossfades on transitions, and loudness normalization on export (−14, −16, −23 or −24 LUFS).
• Hour-long recordings stream instead of filling memory.

Colour and compositing

• GPU grading: tone curves, lift / gamma / gain wheels, HSL by colour range, .cube LUTs — and scopes beside the monitor.
• Chroma and luma keys, feathered masks (on adjustment layers too), outlined titles in any font.

Workflow

• Proxies for 4K footage, version history with automatic snapshots, and Collect project.
• Subtitles: import SRT and WebVTT files, export the captions as SRT or WebVTT, beside the video or on their own.
• Render queue: line exports up and keep editing while they render; PNG frames and WebM with transparency for compositing.

AI

• 108 tools for every AI brain (from 91) — everything above included.
• OpenCode Go as a Copilot brain, and a model and effort picker for every brain.

Automatic updates

Lumen now checks this Releases page, downloads new versions in the background and installs them when you restart. Lumen 1.0.x can't update itself, so install this version once by hand — after that, updates arrive on their own.

Fixes

• The taskbar, Start menu and desktop icons were blank after installing 1.0.2.
• Claude, GPT and Gemini models on OpenCode Zen now work.
• Sped-up video plays smoothly in the preview, the sound under a transition crossfades, and Shift+← / Shift+→ move one second at any frame rate.

Lumen 1.0.2 — the AI can see and hear

Every AI brain in Lumen — an API model, your own Claude Code or Codex, or an outside agent over MCP — now shares one toolset of about 70 tools. It can look at your video, listen to it, inspect every clip and edit with all-or-nothing batches.

Highlights

• Eyes — get_frame renders any moment exactly as the export will look; get_contact_sheet shows the whole edit as one labelled grid; get_media_frames looks inside footage before using it; get_editor_screenshot sees the editor as you do.
• Ears — get_transcript (what's said and when, after every cut), analyze_audio (loudness in LUFS, peaks, clipping and silences, per track, with plain advice) and find_media (searches inside transcripts).
• Hands — batch_edit applies several commands as one undo step that lands completely or not at all, plus add_title, undo / redo, select_clips, playback, save_project and export_video (you choose where the file goes).
• You see what it saw — the frames the AI looked at appear on that step in the Copilot chat.
• Works with any vision model — Claude gets pictures inside tool results, other models as a follow-up message; a model that can't take images is detected and carries on without them.

Fixes

• The Copilot remembers earlier steps' tool results between turns.
• Markers can be edited and removed by the AI; removing something that doesn't exist now reports an error.
• One export at a time, from the dialog or the AI.
• Sound effects, music and voice land on their own tracks instead of the first free one.
• The Export dialog's preview and frame snapshots are frame-exact, 3D and motion-graphic renders included.
