Release list
Mutt Engine 1.0.3
Yet another patch for this project. Took a bit of a break to focus on other stuff I had to do and recently got back to this one. This is the LAST PATCH before 1.1, which will focus on base game porting and modcharting, with some bug fixes along the way.
WHAT CHANGED?
- Editor music can be now disabled across all editors that have it (character and stage editor)
- Chart editor bug fixes + missing things
- Character editor now has a Icon Animation sub-editor for animated icons with XML
- Character editor has better support for atlases, including an
"Atlas Symbols/Labels"window. Allows you to select animation names directly from thejsonfile. Same thing with sparrow XMLs!
Have fun!
Mutt Engine 1.0.2
Another day-one patch, this time a VERY important one. Turns out path finding for files (like sprites, icons, etc.) inside the modern mod folder your-mod was completely absent. A slight oversight on my end, whoops :)
WHAT CHANGED?
- Mods with the modern structure (when using
your-modmod folder) now properly find the correct paths for icons, sprites, notes and note splashes when added in the mod.
Small patch but had to be done lol
Mutt Engine 1.0.1
Forgot some stuff on first release, here's a quick "day-one" patch focused on mods.
WHAT CHANGED?
- Fixed window title being renamed to
Friday Night Funkin' : Psych Enginewhen no mods where selected. Now it shows the correct title. - Fixed mod template folder
your-modmissing important folders AND files (forgot to populate with txt files and the pack files... the bare minimum... whoops) - Added two new options inside
pack.jsonin the mod templates:changeTitle (boolean)- if false the window title will not change ||windowTitle (string)- option to change window title for your own mods, differs fromname. your-mod/statesand the subfoldersubstates/now have detailed README.txt files with all the variables and functions available to use, along with some tips and extra notes.
Enjoy!
Mutt Engine 1.0
Mutt Engine!
It exists I guess...
Welcome to Mutt Engine! A Psych fork made to "modernize" the engine with features from different engines such as Codename, V-Slice's latest version, Nightmare Vision, whilst adding even cooler stuff for your own mods! Here's a list of the changes made for Mutt Engine.
GAMEPLAY
- Added TheZoroForce240's Modchart Tools for custom soft-coded MODCHARTING, including a built-in EXPERIMENTAL editor!
- Support for multiple Win/Lose icon sprites, if present, and better support for animated icons
- That's it, lol :)
EDITORS
- Chart Editor: Startup Wizard to configure songs or modify existing ones, similar to V-Slice. Added Codename/V-Slice charts compatibility (ALSO EXPERIMENTAL, NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL), plus a few other QoL improvements
- Character Editor: Better Tab Organization, QoL additions, Onion Skin, and more!
- Stage Editor: Now a proper fucking editor and not a buggy mess! | LOTS of bug fixes, QoL improvements, Pixel Stage option, Animated Sprites Subeditor now actually works, and MORE.
DEBUG
- Added a Debug Menu like V-Slice, accessible by pressing 6 in the Main Menu!
FILE STRUCTURE
- Both the source code and game assets have been re-organized for a much more cleaner and modern structure compared to Psych Engine, taking inspiration from both Codename and NMV for a couple of things
CHECK OUT ALL THE FEATURES IN THE BUILD!
Oh and yeah, this project is not meant to be public and will not be shared. I prefer to keep this as personal rather than making it public. However, if requested, I will allow you to use this build however you like (please be a team and fix this shit, I dunno what I'm doing tbh)
