Release list
v0.2.0
Second preview build. Saves, voices, clean sound, and races that play through to the results screen.
No game included. You need your own SSX Tricky USA Xbox disc image (
.iso).
Download
SSX-Tricky-PC-v0.2.0-win64.7z: extract it into its own folder (Windows 11 opens .7z directly; on Windows 10 use 7-Zip). Run SSX Tricky.exe, pick your .iso in Settings, and press Start game. Your saves and settings from v0.1.0 carry over if you extract over the old folder.
Fixed since v0.1.0
- Saving to the hard disk no longer says "Save Failed"; saving, overwriting and loading all work
- Rider voices, the announcer and the countdown beeps play (they were in the centre channel of the game's 5.1 mix, which was dropped)
- The faint crackle in music and sound is gone
- The race intro and the finish camera are no longer black
- Customize Outfit no longer freezes on the fourth outfit, and riders no longer explode after changing outfits
- Elise's Master outfit shows its chrome instead of black
- Far-away terrain below the Garibaldi cliff no longer breaks up; lighting fixes from a corrected matrix inverse
Known issues
- The pre-race intro (course fly-over and rider cutscene) is often skipped
- Character dialogue starts slightly late
- The Uberboard renders black on the board screen
- Some particle effects are smaller or dimmer than on the console, and the course mist sits wrong
- Courses other than Garibaldi and Mesablanca, and the other modes, are lightly tested
- The exe isn't code-signed: SmartScreen may ask you to confirm (More info → Run anyway)
Requirements
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), a Direct3D 11 graphics card.
SHA-256 (SSX-Tricky-PC-v0.2.0-win64.7z): 143e650c121960ef170ee95fffad8ba1b20b0748f50ecb2126f787c1b698e921

SSX Tricky PC v0.1.0 (preview)
First preview build. A native Windows port of SSX Tricky (Xbox), made by statically recompiling the game with xboxrecomp. Not an emulator.
No game included. You need your own SSX Tricky USA Xbox disc image (
.iso).
Download
SSX-Tricky-PC-v0.1.0-win64.7z: extract it into its own folder. Windows 11 opens .7z directly; on Windows 10 use 7-Zip. Then run SSX Tricky.exe, pick your .iso in Settings, and press Start game.
What works
- Boot, save detection, the EA and attract movies with sound
- The whole frontend: title, mode, character, event, difficulty and venue select
- A full race on Garibaldi against the AI riders, with HUD, race clock and speed blur, at a steady 60 fps
- Any resolution up to 4K, the game's own 16:9 mode, fullscreen, mipmaps, anisotropic filtering, 2x/4x/8x anti-aliasing
- Keyboard and XInput controllers, fully remappable; F12 screenshots; a menu bar in the game window
Known issues
- Distant fog is too weak, so far terrain can look speckled at the edge of the view distance
- Some particle effects (snow spray, trails) are smaller or dimmer than on the console
- Some frontend floors are darker than on the console; the board isn't shown on the rider setup screen
- Other courses, modes and the end of a race are untested
- The exe isn't code-signed: SmartScreen may ask you to confirm (More info → Run anyway)
