Windows 2.0.8 and server 1.0.5
A reliability and performance update for text, images and grouped files. Existing
accounts, Windows settings, server data and iPhone endpoint URLs are compatible.
What changed
- Windows polls lightweight metadata instead of repeatedly downloading the same image/file.
- Unchanged clipboard bitmaps are not repeatedly read and hashed.
- Temporary upload and clipboard-access failures are retried.
- Older downloaded files cannot replace newer text/images on the clipboard.
- Manually received items are not automatically uploaded back to the server.
- Completed file downloads are reused; interrupted groups are cleaned up before retry.
- Empty files, duplicate/long Unicode names and unsupported image formats are preserved.
- Changes to files copied from the same path are detected.
- Server text keeps exact CRLF/CR/LF line endings; UTF-32 and Unicode credentials work.
- Malformed JSON is rejected without overwriting the clipboard.
- Concurrent server reads and history trimming no longer race deleted files.
- Windows server-mode history writes are atomic.
Downloads
- Windows x64 installer: install for the current user without administrator privileges.
- Windows x64 portable: run the executable without installation.
- Android signed universal APK 1.0.0-beta.10: unchanged from the previous release.
- iPhone send/receive Shortcuts: unchanged; configure your endpoint/account URLs.
- Updated standalone server and Windows Python scripts.
Server and stores
Docker image: ghcr.io/mattboxx/clipboard-bridge-server:1.0.5.
Update/recreate your container while retaining its /data volume. Back up that
volume before any update. The app-store catalog is updated separately and keeps
the permanent ZimaOS store.json source.
Verification and security
69 tests passed locally, including the real Windows-client-to-Gunicorn Docker
round trip, account isolation, concurrent uploads/reads, large file groups and
temporary clipboard failures. GitHub validation also checks Windows, server and Android.
Windows downloads remain unsigned: Defender/Smart App Control can warn or block them.
