Status report: October 6, 2026

Sprint 1 (September 30 to October 13), week 1 of 2. Reporting period: September 29 to October 5, 2026. Author: Matthew Feroz.

This report shows the project at one point in time and won't be edited after it's posted. Later changes will appear in future reports.

Overall status: 🟢 GREEN

Sprint 1 is ahead of plan. The plan scheduled the first-run walkthrough (#9) and reconnect/cancellation validation (#10) for week 1. Both were completed in development, and so was the week 2 work on report access and publication (#11). Each produced targeted fixes and automated tests. Sprint dates and scope are unchanged.

What's left is acceptance and release:

  • Public release. The validated changes were developed in the private development repository. They were opened for review as public pull request #14 on October 6 and are not yet merged.
  • Hosted acceptance. Someone still has to sign in with a fresh real account on the hosted site and run a no-model worker check. The sign-in provider changed this week (see the decisions section), so the hosted site needs new configuration first.

Neither item currently threatens the October 13 end of the sprint.

Resource utilization

The project has one team member. Development is agent-assisted: Codex (GPT-6.1 Sol) through T3 Code, with Claude Code for orchestration and independent review.

Matthew Feroz, owner and developer

Completed September 29 to October 5:

  • Planned Sprint 1: four issues with completion criteria, a milestone, and a project board with automatic issue import.
  • Finished the week 5 deliverables: UI prototypes, the architecture walkthrough, and the sprint plan.
  • Merged 19 development pull requests:
    • #9 (first run): restored the no-model worker check and clarified setup, recovery and onboarding guidance.
    • #10 (reconnect and cancellation): verified results are kept when a run is cancelled, and added real worker tests for daemon restart and cancellation.
    • #11 (report access): added tests that private reports stay private, published revisions don't change, and revoked or removed access fails.
    • Sign-in: moved hosted sign-in from WorkOS to Clerk, with a mapping that keeps existing accounts' data.
    • Reliability and performance: bounded report reads for large evaluations, reserved report storage, fixed model naming, pass labels and monitoring updates, and made task hashing and chart rendering faster.

Planned October 6 to October 12:

  • Review and merge public release PR #14 after its checks pass.
  • Configure Clerk for the hosted site, then run the hosted acceptance checks: sign in with a fresh account, pair a worker, run the no-model worker check, publish and revoke a report link.
  • Close #9 to #11 once their evidence passes.
  • Complete #12: reproducibility evidence and a public release checklist.
  • Prepare the End-of-Sprint-1 status update for October 13.

Team activities

As a solo developer, my collaborative work was with AI coding agents, done through threads and pull requests.

Date Activity Purpose Participants Outcomes and follow-ups
Sep 30 Sprint 1 planning Turn the week 5 plans into a two-week sprint Matthew Feroz, with an AI coding agent Four issues, milestone and board created. 28 hours committed plus 4 hours contingency.
Oct 1 Worker-check fix Unblock a first run that needs no model credentials Matthew Feroz; Codex in T3 Code Merged the no-model worker check during setup.
Oct 3 Validation walkthroughs for #9, #10 and #11 Test first-run, recovery and report-access behavior and fix what failed Matthew Feroz; Codex, orchestrated from Claude Code Three pull requests with fixes and tests. Hosted acceptance checks still needed.
Oct 4 Integration and review Merge sign-in, reliability and performance work Matthew Feroz; Codex in T3 Code; independent review by Claude Code 13 pull requests merged after their checks passed. Follow-up: operator backfill of run summaries after deployment.

Changes and major decisions

Area Decision or change Reason Impact
Technology Hosted sign-in moved from WorkOS to Clerk Simpler setup and more reliable sessions Needs Clerk configuration and account mapping before cutover. Adds a hosted sign-in acceptance step. WorkOS stays available for rollback during the transition.
Scope Restored the no-model worker check during setup Let new users verify a worker before entering provider credentials (#9) Small addition within the sprint goal. Schedule unchanged.
Architecture Saved run summaries and reserved report storage Large evaluations could exceed backend read limits Status pages stay fast for large runs. Older runs need a one-time operator backfill after deployment.
Approach Develop in a private repository; publish to the public repository as reviewed patches Keep private evidence, notes and branding out of public source Public releases need a review step. Validation evidence is summarized publicly rather than copied.
Schedule No change — Sprint 1 still ends October 13.
