ReKHCoM 2.1 brings portability fixes, safer HD resources and a shared 32/64-bit desktop distribution.
- Windows: one clean ZIP with automatic architecture selection and optional Force32/Force64. Manual saves and settings are shared; runtime snapshots retain their architecture namespaces.
- Linux desktop / Steam Deck: one x86/x86-64 archive, automatic selection, Deck detection/presets and a Gaming Mode setup helper.
- Native Linux import: open
ReKHCoM Launcher.shin Desktop Mode to play or import HD without Wine. The basic launcher imports a prepared HD folder or owned-PC music/movies/scenes using Python3.9+; optional sprite extraction needs existing numpy/Pillow. KDE/Zenity dialogs and a visible import terminal are used when available, with CLI fallback. No dependencies are downloaded automatically. This is not full Windows launcher parity and does not diagnose the separate reported Wine crash. - Android beta: one APK containing ARM32 and ARM64. Android selects the compatible ABI. Lifecycle diagnostics now retain bounded session history.
- Fixed ROM alignment, palette exhaustion and the 64-bit saved-game door crash. HD music/video failures have bounded recovery paths; these fixes do not claim recovery from arbitrary memory corruption.
- Restored stock frames, corrected enemy HP presentation and HD stock-total placement, improved gauge edges and synchronized submenu border extensions. HD HUD resources prepare before returning from Options, with cartridge rendering retained when optional CPU canvas allocation fails.
- Added separate English/Japanese HD media libraries, installed-language information and import guidance. Imports require your own supported source game; the launcher does not change Steam downloads.
- Gallery replays return directly to the list. Preview caches and visual fallbacks are bounded. Improved wording and translations.
- Experimental controller prompts can follow Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation or original layouts and current bindings. Original remains the default; physical controller/hotplug coverage is incomplete.
- Current log plus five prior sessions, safer save replacement and expanded deterministic regression tools. The public OptiPort skill contains the reusable method and references.
Use a fresh extracted folder and keep a backup of your saves when testing a different runtime. No ROM, imported HD media or personal save is included.
Verification and limits: release-source hashes and the final test matrix are recorded with this release. Local regression success is separate from confirmation on the original reporters' Steam Deck and Samsung devices. Linux ARM64 is an opt-in experimental source builder, not a supplied desktop binary. Console/Android packages remain beta; no new unbuilt console packages are represented as tested. This release does not claim a measured general FPS gain or universal crash recovery.
| Verification | Result |
|---|---|
| Final Windows ZIP, both architectures | User's saved-game door, eight Sora/Riku field fixtures, Traverse event door and USA Monstro World5/event74 passed. |
| Final Windows GPU / native HD movie player | Real player/enemy stocks1/2/3 and corrected totals reviewed; nine movie normal/seek/pause/skip/cancel/reset/Unicode/software/error cases passed. |
| Linux desktop32/64 and Anbernic armhf | Final all-region build passed. Saved-door/Traverse/Monstro runtime checks passed on the preceding35b57818c baseline; final combined package runtime not repeated. Physical Deck/Anbernic unverified. |
| Native Linux launcher/import | Seven real-file transaction tests and packaging/resource/permissions checks passed on Debian12 VM; actual C consumer confirms valid EN/JP and rejects malformed variant metadata. Native game/library bytes unchanged during launcher packaging. Physical desktop dialog rendering is unverified. |
| Android ARM32/ARM64 beta | Final all-region build; preceding35b57818c baseline passed launcher and saved-door/Traverse/Monstro in API34 emulator with ARM64 translation. Final combined APK runtime not repeated; original Samsung unverified. |
To avoid delaying delivery with another expanded pass, the remaining physical-device and comparative profiling checks stay documented follow-up work. No new PS4/PS5/Vita/Switch binaries are supplied in this release.
