RenderNorth Environments is a Windows desktop private beta for saving and activating named display workspaces for gaming, streaming, development, presentations, and more.

• Detect and clearly indicate the active environment from display topology, positions, dimensions, rotation, and scaling.
• Launch saved environments silently from stable Stream Deck shortcuts.
• Retain legacy Game Mode and Script Mode launcher compatibility.

• Preserve saved environments and managed shortcut registrations during repair, upgrade, uninstall, and reinstall.

Private Beta Fixes

• Stabilized responsive header, hero, Welcome, Quick Actions, and status layouts.
• Removed non-interactive empty-space hover reactions.
• Fixed saved-environment cards disappearing during refresh.
• Fixed environment icon ellipsis artifacts.
• Corrected active-environment detection when profiles share the same monitor IDs.
• Clarified the hero card with an explicit Active state.

Early Access Notice

• This is an early-access private-beta release, not a stable public v1 release.

• Windows 11 x64 only.

• Code signing is not currently configured.

• Windows may display an Unknown Publisher or Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning.

• Verify the installer SHA-256 when appropriate:

This launcher hotfix preserves the verified display-switching engine and corrects installed Game Mode and Script Mode activation while the GUI is open.

Updater Support Files

The .nupkg, RELEASES, and releases.win.json files are updater support assets and are not intended for manual installation.

Fixes

• Installed RenderNorthGameMode.exe and RenderNorthScriptMode.exe now work while the normal GUI is open.
• Each launcher resolves RenderNorthDisplaySwitcher.exe beside itself using AppContext.BaseDirectory.
• Launcher failures and nonzero main-application exit codes are written to launcher-YYYYMMDD.log.
• Launchers remain silent with no console window or success popup.

The native Windows display-layout engine is unchanged.

The public binaries are not Authenticode-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may appear. Verify the download came from this repository.

Verified scope

Game Mode, Script Mode, both silent Stream Deck launchers, installation, and uninstall were physically tested on the original Windows 11 / Elgato HD60 X setup. Other capture devices may work when Windows recognizes them as display outputs, but have not all been individually verified.

End-to-end updating from an older installed public version remains a separate verification step and is not claimed here.
