Testing & Compatibility

Currently tested on Pixel 10 (PixelOS) and Pixel 9 (GrapheneOS). If you try another device,
please share your experience and report any issues!

🎤 Microphone / Ultrasonic Detection

  • Microphone permissions are optional
  • Even if previously granted, ultrasonic detection requires explicit opt-in:
    Settings → Privacy → Privacy and Data → Enable Ultrasonics
  • Audio is buffered in 10-second increments in encrypted memory, then discarded

🌐 Network Access

Network access is only used to periodically fetch the IEEE OUI database. You can route this
traffic through https://orbot.app/en/ for additional privacy.

📢 Detection Sensitivity

Detections are tuned aggressively right now—expect false positives. To help provide feedback:

  1. Enable Advanced Mode in Settings
  2. Tap the bug icon in the top bar to copy debug logs
  3. ⚠️ Review logs for sensitive info before sharing

🏗️ Known Issues & WIP

  1. Flipper integration is almost complete but still a work in progress
  2. UI refresh issues — some values don't always update properly, especially on the status page
  3. GrapheneOS limitations:
    - BLE scanning does not work
    - Cell/location features are limited
    - https://github.com/MaxwellDPS/Flock-You-Android/blob/main/OEM_INTEGRATION.md exist for deeper
    integration (GrapheneOS bake-in still needs testing)

Requirements

  • Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher
  • Location permissions for scanning
  • Bluetooth permissions for BLE detection
