Caution

⚠️ NOT THE OFFICIAL VERSION

Please do the responsible thing and install the official TokenEater: AThevon/TokenEater. It is maintained, notarized by Apple, and updates itself.

This fork is not official in the least. It is something I built around my own annoyances, by vibe coding, and it is not reviewed, supported or endorsed by the original author or by Anthropic. If you still want to try it, proceed with caution and at your own risk.

Unofficial build. This is TokenEater by Adrien Thevon (MIT licence), with support for a second Claude Code account added by me. It is not made or endorsed by the original author or by Anthropic. The feature is proposed upstream in AThevon/TokenEater#284.

What's different from the official 6.0.0

  • Track a second Claude Code account (its own CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR) as a provider of its own: menu bar pills, popover, a dashboard column, and its own Studio layouts.
  • Its own app identity, and no auto-update, so the official updater can never replace it. Check this page for new versions.

Install (macOS 14 or later)

  1. Download TokenEater-MultiAccount-6.0.0-multi.1.dmg below and open it.
  2. Drag TokenEater onto Applications. It replaces the official TokenEater if you have it; don't run both.
  3. Open it. macOS will say it can't check the app for malware, because this build isn't notarized by Apple (that needs a paid developer account). Click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
  4. When asked, allow access to the Claude Code-credentials Keychain item.

To add a second account, log it into Claude Code with its own config dir, e.g. CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=~/.claude-work claude, then see Settings → Providers → Other Claude accounts.

Good to know

  • It reads your Claude Code login and calls Anthropic's usage endpoint, read-only, exactly like the official app. That endpoint is undocumented, so it can change without notice.
  • Built from fork-release with scripts/package-fork.sh.
