@McBenac McBenac released this 21 Oct 00:11

First release.

Press Space on a .gpx file in Explorer to see it on a map in QuickLook:

  • Tracks as lines (one colour per segment) with start and end marked and a clickable dot per point (time, coordinates, elevation)
  • Routes as dashed lines and waypoints as pins
  • Summary with name, date, number of points, distance and duration
  • Elevation profile when the track has elevation data
  • Map (OpenStreetMap, Humanitarian style), Satellite (Esri World Imagery) or No map (grid only, no downloads); the choice is remembered
  • GPX 1.0 and 1.1; files that are not valid XML get an error page

Files with more than 20,000 track points are drawn without the per-point dots; files above 30,000 points are untested and may hit the 20-second preview limit. See Large files in the README.

Map and Satellite download tiles from OpenStreetMap France and Esri, which reveals roughly where the track is. See Privacy in the README.

Install: download QuickLook.Plugin.GpxViewer.qlplugin, select it in Explorer, press Space and click Click here to install this plugin. Requires QuickLook 4.x.
