v0.15.0
A newer voice pack is out: get it from the 0.18.3 release (part 1 + part 2). The voice pack files below are the first one, from 0.15.0.
- Gamepad UI: Escape > Options no longer shows "MelloUI has been blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI", and Escape no longer freezes the game. The world map no longer freezes with a controller either: the Quest List's map marks (quest givers, zone badges, entrances, boats and zeppelins) are off while the Gamepad UI is on and come back when it is off. The MelloUI entry of the Escape menu is hidden while the Gamepad UI is on (type /mello); without the Game Menu reskin it now sits under the menu. If a "blocked" popup turned MelloUI off, turn it back on in the AddOns list.
- MelloUI's questions (load a profile, go back to "Before install", restore or delete the macro backup, Restock's Suggested, the Edit Mode layout question on another character) now ask in MelloUI's own window; Escape there closes only the question. With the Gamepad UI on, a new character is not asked at login: a chat line says where to pick the layout.
- Route: an objective that needs an item first now leads you to where the item comes from. Marla's Last Wish sends you to Samuel Fipps for his remains before Marla's Grave, with the arrow, the World Marker and a "First: loot Samuel's Remains from Samuel Fipps" line in the Quest Tracker; the moment it is in your bags they all go to the objective. 33 quests work this way.
- World Marker: far away a beacon with the distance and travel time under it, faint in the middle of the screen; within 100 yards a pin that stays on the place (the NPC, the object, the item to pick up); hidden inside a quest's objective area; steady at every border, no flicker. The first route of a session shows "Loading navigation..." while the roads load, and the arrow shows it is working.
- Active buttons stand out: whatever is on, checked or selected now wears one clear look, a thick gold ring with a soft glow around and inside it, its icon a little brighter. Your stance, form or aura on the stance bar (in combat too), auto attack and other active abilities on every action bar, the pet bar, the possess and vehicle bars and the extra action button, an open bag on the bag bar, the micro menu button of a window you have open, the selected tab of every window and of the settings window, side tabs, the spell book's tabs, the selected row in lists and the friend you selected in your friends or ignore list, ticked check boxes and your choices in the installer. It follows your palette, and it belongs to the painted look, so without the reskin the game's own look stays.
- Nameplates show the level number on a dark disc. Elites, rares, rare elites and bosses get metal marks: a crest before the name on nameplates, and the portrait ring and level orb in the metal on the target and focus frames (gold crown, silver star, gold star in silver, red-bronze skull). Each can be switched off.
- Minimap: back to its normal size by default (it came in at 150 %), with new Width and Height sliders on the Minimap page instead of the size; the border, buttons and zone name keep their size, and the Quest Tracker now hangs right under the map, as wide as it, moving and resizing with it. A size you set yourself in Edit Mode is kept; layouts fitted by 0.14.0 are offered "Fit to this screen" once.
- Quest List: 19 real quests with "Test" in their names were missing and are back: Test of Faith, Endurance, Strength and Lore, The Test of Righteousness, The Test of Skulls, The Gordok Taste Test, Toxic Test and The Final Test.
- /mello on its own opens the Configurator again.
- A calmer settings window: the Configurator was rebuilt. The side list has one entry per part of the game in five groups that fold; every page has its tabs on top and the same sections (General, Look, Text, Layout, Behaviour, Sound, Advanced), and every option is in exactly one place (the settings for the whole interface live on Look; other pages show a link row that jumps there). Unit Frames, Action Bars and Windows pick the frame, bar or window at the top of the page, with Copy from... and an All button on a row that differs between them; Unit Frames has a live preview. Rows that don't apply are dimmed with a line saying why, never hidden. Search shows where an option lives and jumps to it, lit for a moment. The calmer look: the stone only round the window, flat buttons and tabs, thin sliders with a box you can type a number into; the installer and the Restock windows wear it too. Dynamic UI Modification's window is gone: its choices are pictures right on the pages. Reset this page (it asks first) puts a page back to its defaults and leaves your own preferences, Dark Mode's too.
- Edit Layout: the one place to move things, from the Edit Layout button at the top of the Configurator or /mello edit; it replaces Unlock the Windows, Auto Snapping and Reset positions, and your saved places are kept. Drag anything, the mouse wheel resizes it, right-click opens its size, position, what it snaps to, its reset and All options >; Ctrl+right-click resets it, Shift keeps a drag in a straight line and the arrow keys nudge the one you clicked. Elements snap to their neighbours' edges and centres with a guide line. Nothing sticks until you press Save (Discard puts it all back, Reset all asks first); a fight pauses it and keeps your changes. The action bars and the game's other Edit Mode parts show Move via Edit Mode, which opens the game's Edit Mode, and Edit Mode has a MelloUI Edit Layout button to come back.
- The Quest Log and the Quest List look like they belong together: the Quest List's rows are the Quest Log's (the same fonts and sizes, spacing, columns, section headers, search box and scroll bar), with a small round bullet before the line under a title and the difficulty pips and the Classic / Forever stamp in one column on every row, both stamps as wide as each other. On parchment the stamps are ink stamps and a hovered row keeps its ink dark; the logo beside a quest's name on its page is the same stamp.
- A new voice pack, MelloUI_VoicePack: every quest line (the offer, the objectives, progress and turn-in), every greeting and gossip page, and every page of a book, letter, note, plaque or sign is voiced, each NPC with one voice for all of its lines, a narrator for stage directions, for quests an object or an item gives and for the books. It is a separate download in two parts from the releases page (unzip both into the same folder) and replaces the old pack, which is no longer offered: put MelloUI_VoicePack next to MelloUI and tick it in the AddOns list. With only the old pack installed, Voice Over still plays it and says once where to get the new one.
- Voice Over: quest objectives play only from the voice pack, in the quest giver's voice, after a quest offer and with the quest log's Read button. One switch, Quest Objectives, replaces Include Objectives and Read The Objectives Too, and text-to-speech never reads objectives or their counts.
- Voice Over reads books, letters, notes, plaques and signs aloud, the whole book: open it and the narrator reads from that page to the last, with no page turning, and goes on when you close it or walk away. Turning a page reads on from there, another book takes over, Stop ends it, and a page waits behind a quest line instead of cutting it off. Read Books And Letters Aloud (on) switches it off.
- Voice Over's Voices tab: Speed, Volume and the NPC voices are under Text-to-Speech, since they only change text-to-speech (recorded lines play at their own pace, at the Sound Channel's volume); they are dimmed while Read Unvoiced Lines is off. Race Pitch & Speed and Profile Strength are gone.
- Fixes: Use Guild Funds no longer says the guild bank paid when the shop closed before the repair went through: it looks at your gear and says when the guild bank could not pay. The copy window (/mellolog, a profile's share string) wears MelloUI's window look with its title on the plate. The damage meter's "not active" line is dark ink on its parchment. The tooltips' Dark Backdrop and Dark Border, the Dark background of the bags and the professions window and every portrait disc follow your palette. The Services list's Stop route button is flat and its hint full-size. The Configurator's tour has all its steps again.
- New files: restart the game once after updating (/reload doesn't load new files).
