v0.1.44
This stable hotfix carries startup recovery independently of the beta runtime.
- Stop treating a slow database migration as a failed eight-second backend
startup. An identified preparation phase has a bounded 15-minute window,
visible progress and a separate 30-second connection deadline. - Stop waiting when the owned child exits or reports failure; identify its
startup phase record in the error instead of silently retrying. - Reject a recorded, incompatible prerelease schema before opening a database
writer. Existing legacy databases retain their migration behavior. - Keep the Windows installer parseable by Windows PowerShell 5.1.
- Load bundled GitLab and Poe authentication modules through the existing
external-plugin boundary, preserving compatibility with their upstream SDK.
Release-channel selection and experimental continuity remain in the beta line.
Users who have opened sessions with beta should stay on beta; stable must not be
used to force a downgrade of its database. See
release and recovery guidance.
Installation and validation
Existing stable users can run mendcode upgrade. For recovery when the installed
application cannot start, use the installer pinned to this release:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MendCode/MendCode/v0.1.44/src/mendcode/install | bash -s -- --version 0.1.44 --skip-setupBeta users should remain on beta and update to 0.1.44-beta.2 using their selected
beta channel. This stable hotfix does not include the experimental runtime.
All platform build jobs and the release dependency gate passed. macOS arm64 was
verified with the exact release archive: fresh installation, real 0.1.43-to-0.1.44
upgrade, preservation of a session created by 0.1.43, backend health, terminal UI
startup and a second client. Startup/schema regressions and typecheck passed in CI.
Windows executables passed native metadata checks; Linux/Windows interactive TUI
acceptance was not performed locally. Archive checksums and authorized-workflow
provenance were verified. Tests used isolated data and no live model calls.
