FAQ & Troubleshooting

First: read the Status box + Batch results table. It names the failed file and reason. Details are in logs/.

Setup

App won't start / closes? Run start.bat from unzipped folder, keep bin/ together. Check logs/startup_error.log.

GPU rejected / "not supported"? Needs NVIDIA RTX, Ampere or newer. RTX 20 and non-RTX are blocked. RTX 30 works but slow. Full table: System Requirements. Update driver, use real GPU (not remote desktop virtual GPU).

Frame Interpolation fails instantly? Needs RTX 40 / 50 + recent driver + Windows HAGS on (Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling → On → reboot).

Rendering

Slow — is it stuck? No. Neural Rendering is heavy, RTX 30 much slower. Try DLAA + H.264 + Encoding quality: Auto + 3-sec preview to test speed first.

Failed one file in batch, rest continued — normal? Yes. Batch records failure and continues in order. Fix that file, re-run it alone.

Stop button — what does it do? Cancels current file, deletes only its unfinished output. Finished files stay, queued become Skipped.

Output won't play in browser player? Normal for H.265 / AV1 / ProRes / MKV. Set Settings → Preview Encoding: Auto for auto H.264 preview. Your file in outputs/ is still full quality.

No preview player for batch? By design — players show only when exactly 1 video is selected. Batch uses files + table.

HDR Mode greyed out? Only H.265 / AV1 / ProRes support it. Switch codec first. H.264 is always SDR.

Can't pick ProRes + MP4? Blocked on purpose — use MKV or MOV.

Where is my file? Filename looks different? outputs/ — Auto adds timestamp, Custom adds suffix, never overwrites. Sort by date to find newest.

Quality

Looks worse / flickers? Lower strengths toward 1.0, turn Automatic Mask Off, NR Preset Default, DLSS Model Preset Default. Test with Preview 1 frame / 3 sec.

Want smaller / larger files? Video: Encoding quality Auto → Good → Best. Image: JPEG + quality ~90 for small, PNG for max.
