How to get new users to join the MetOffice GitHub organisation? #549
|
I have seen information on transitioning current users that have a MOSRS account to GitHub. But how do new users get access to the GitHub organisation? Should we just request a MOSRS account for them? |

Hi Claire, if they're not an existing user of MOSRS and won't need a MOSRS account, for now, I'd email Science Partnerships (who in the longer term will be taking over the user-by-user process). |

Claire Carouge (@ccarouge) Most of the Simulation Systems repositories are now publicly available (JULES will likely become public soon, but UM will stay private). This means anyone can access and contribute to these repositories. As Andrew Clark (@arjclark) mentioned, those needing access to the private repositories should get in touch with Science Partnerships and must have a GitHub account. |

Thanks. Unfortunately, they need access to UM and JULES and likely no other repositories 😆 . Thanks for the answers. The GitHub account and security stuff isn't a problem (that specific user is our GitHub Action guru). We'll contact Science Partnerships. |
