Points of note

  • Radiation code used by the Unified Model version 13.6 and LFRic Apps version 1.1.
  • A relatively major update including functionality changes in the core radiative transfer routines and pre-processing programs.
  • The original equivalent extinction code has been removed in favour of the more flexible updated routines (maintaining physical, but not numerical consistency for older configurations): #161
  • This change also corrected some errors introduced with #147 that may have caused problems with the exact major overlap method for treating overlap of gas absorption: #161
  • Functionality improvements for the calculation of photolysis rates: #155, #162
  • Introduction of a new utility to calculate horizon angles on the LFRic UGRID for inclusion in orography ancillary files: #146
