What changed since 0.2.1

Fans

  • The board's own Smart Fan IV curve is saved before OmaAsus programs a hardware curve and written back on release, and the helper puts it back if OmaAsus crashes. Restores go points, then mode, then duty, which is the order the nct6775 driver accepts; an output with no mode attribute (a USB cooler's pwm) is always claimed.
  • Lian Li UNI hubs: product-id families and the control-mode command per family now match liquidctl 1.16 (SL, AL, SL-Infinity, SL v2, AL v2). Hub writes no longer discard a failed mode change or block the runtime, and the helper no longer asks for an admin password for a fan-hub write.
  • The Cooling page says plainly that CoolerControl, while it runs, drives every fan it knows and OmaAsus sends none.
  • A GPU that is asleep when its owner dies keeps its fan claim pending until it wakes, for at most ten minutes.

Lighting

  • Solid colours use each device's own Static mode and are saved to the device where it allows, so they outlive OpenRGB and a reboot. Devices with per-LED Static modes (ASUS GPUs, fan hubs) are handled; a device OpenRGB lists with no LEDs is reported instead of given a random effect.
  • The active profile's lighting is put back whenever the OpenRGB server starts, noticed through a held SDK connection.
  • OpenRGB mode flags are read correctly (brightness is bit 4; bit 8 says the device can keep a mode).

Startup

  • Hardware detection reads each hwmon device on its own thread with a bound. On a machine with a wedged USB cooler this took 45 s; it takes about 2 s now.
  • Start-up probes (cpufreq, OpenRGB) run off the UI thread.

Docs and packaging

  • ASUS page copy names asusd and supergfxd with their packages; README describes the threading honestly; git archive leaves agent configuration out.

Install

Arch and Omarchy:

sudo pacman -U omaasus-0.2.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

If you installed the helper earlier with scripts/install-helper.sh, pacman stops on files that already exist. Add --overwrite '*' the first time.

Other distributions (glibc 2.39 or newer, systemd, polkit):

tar xf omaasus-0.2.2-x86_64-linux.tar.gz
sudo omaasus-0.2.2-x86_64-linux/install.sh

Run the same script with --uninstall to remove it.

Either way, the helper starts on demand over D-Bus. To start the overlay at login: systemctl --user enable --now omaasus.service.

PKGBUILD and omaasus.install build the same package from omaasus-0.2.2-source.tar.gz with makepkg. SHA256SUMS covers every file.
