Recovery after drive failure

So my DietPi User Data location is on a drive that has since failed.
How can I change it to a new drive, given that recovery is impossible? The dietpi-drive_manager only gives an option to transfer the User Data, but it does not allow me to start from scratch

Do you have a backup, or is /mnt/dietpi_userdata lost entirely? I guess easiest is to remove the symlink and create a directory in place:

sudo rm /mnt/dietpi_userdata
sudo mkdir /mnt/dietpi_userdata

dietpi-drive_manager will now show the location at the rootfs. From there you can move it to a new drive, if needed.

Alright, that makes sense. Yeah, the drive completely died, so it can't even be mounted.

But configuration for some apps might be lost. Depends on the apps you are using.

Oh the drive is completely gone, so it's lost already lol
