Plume USB 0.1.7
Auto-indent compensation for editors that copy indentation after Enter. Press L in the preview, or tap Auto-indent, to enable it. The option is off by default and saved between sessions.
- Handles leading spaces, tabs and mixed indentation.
- Keeps literal Backspace control characters in text files rejected during preflight. Compensating Backspace presses are generated internally.
- Adds regression tests for resulting editor text, blank lines, dedents, both layouts, control rejection and the 256 KiB input limit.
Thanks to AsteroidPizza39 for the proposal and initial implementation in #2.
Downloads: replace the existing homebrew with plume-usb-0.1.7.nro, or extract Plume-USB-0.1.7-SD.zip at the root of the Switch 1 SD card. Existing settings are preserved. Sources and SHA-256 checksums are also attached.
Validation: cross-compilation and all portable text, auto-indent, typing and mocked USB tests passed. The corrected PR build received successful console test feedback from the maintainer.
Compensation assumes the editor copies spaces/tabs literally and erases one character per Backspace. Editors that expand tabs or erase entire indentation blocks may need different handling; try a short sample first.
Plume USB 0.1.6
Plume USB sends Hello or a UTF-8 text file from a Nintendo Switch 1 as USB keyboard input.
This version adds separate Enter timing to address missed line breaks reported during entry into a game on Switch 2. By default, Enter has a 50 ms neutral interval, at least a 50 ms hold after USB completion, and a 200 ms pause after release completion. Press R in the preview to adjust the Enter pause without changing character speed.
The English interface includes file browsing, AZERTY FR / QWERTY US, six character delays (0–160 ms), manual Caps Lock (X), USB diagnostics (-), cancellation and light/dark themes.
Download plume-usb-0.1.6.nro to replace an existing installation, or extract Plume-USB-0.1.6-SD.zip at the root of the Switch 1 SD card.
Validation: cross-compilation and portable text/typing/mock USB tests passed. The supplied 229-line test file produces all 228 Enter presses in simulated transfers at 0, 2 and 10 ms in both layouts. Earlier builds have typed on the target console; the new Enter timing remains to be confirmed on hardware.
