Sidebars
The sidebars server a similar purpose of inserting and assembling formulae. The difference to the other dialogs is: some of the formula snippets contain placeholders. After insertion the cursor is usually placed at such a placeholder (if one exists). Formula templates can also be nested: a placeholder of one template can be replaced by another template.
Example: the integrand in an integral template can be replaced by a function.
- Place the cursor in the editor field.
- Open the desired formula palette, for instance Integral Symbols.
- Choose and click the desired template.
- Fill in the placeholders.
