Aman Check 1.1.2
Aman Check 1.1.2
Battery health now matches macOS on Apple Silicon. Feedback from Reddit.
- Battery health on Apple Silicon: the app read a few points lower than the "Maximum Capacity" shown in System Settings › Battery. It now shows the same figure as macOS. The raw reading from the battery (mAh / original capacity) is still given in the note, and a gap between the two no longer asks for a manual check.
- Intel Macs: macOS shows no percentage there, so the app still computes it from the battery's capacities in mAh. Nothing changes.
This change has not yet been checked on a real Apple Silicon Mac here. Reports are welcome in the issues.
Help get Aman Check signed by Apple
The warning below goes away once the app is signed and notarized, which takes the Apple Developer Program ($99 a year). Donations on Ko-fi go toward it first.
Installation
- Download
Aman-Check-1.1.2.dmgbelow, open it and drag Aman Check into Applications. - The app isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS blocks it the first time. On macOS 15 or later, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. On macOS 13 or 14, Control-click the app and choose Open. All the steps are in How to Install.txt and in the README.

Aman Check 1.1.1
Aman Check 1.1.1
Fixes for macOS 27 Golden Gate and a clearer speaker test. Feedback from Reddit.
- Battery percentage on macOS 27: it was missing on MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M1 Pro. macOS 27 moved the battery capacities elsewhere in the system; the app reads them there now. If no capacity can be read at all, the app shows the "Maximum Capacity" from macOS and says so.
- macOS 27 Golden Gate: Apple Silicon Macs now show "runs up to macOS 27 Golden Gate" (it said macOS 26 Tahoe). Intel Macs stop at macOS 26, which is correct.
- New Macs: MacBook Pro M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max, MacBook Air M5, MacBook Neo, Mac mini M5 Pro and M6, Mac Studio M5 Max and M5 Ultra.
- Speaker test: longer beeps, more space between them and a sound that is easier to place left or right. The screen no longer seems frozen between two sounds, and no beep can play after the test is closed.
The battery reading on macOS 27 is based on a published registry dump from a MacBook Air M2 and has not yet been checked on a real machine here. Reports are welcome in the issues.

Aman Check 1.1.0
Aman Check 1.1.0
Runs on macOS 13 Ventura, reads the sensors, and tests more of the Mac. Feedback from Reddit and from real Macs.
- macOS 13 Ventura and later (was 14). MacBook Pro, MacBook and iMac 2017 are now covered.
- Sensors: number of fans, fan speed and processor temperature (read only, no password), shown live on the first screen.
- New guided tests: lid sensor (sleep and wake detected automatically), ambient light sensor (shine a phone flashlight on the top of the screen; the app reads the sensor in lux when the Mac allows it) and keyboard backlight.
- Desktop Macs: optional keyboard and trackpad tests for the accessories that come with an iMac or a Mac mini. A test done goes into the report; a test not done is not counted.
- Sharing: Share button (AirDrop, Messages, Mail) and an offline QR code on the first page of the PDF with a plain-text summary, no link. Can be turned off in Settings.
- Fixes: the built-in camera of T2 Macs is no longer taken for an external one; the speaker test was redone (an audible sweep, then a short quiz that runs on its own); Touch ID resumes once a fingerprint is added; Touch Bar zones fit beside the Control Strip.
- First launch: a short notice says what the app does and doesn't do.
Readings specific to Apple silicon and to desktop Macs are not yet verified on real hardware. Reports are welcome in the issues.

Aman Check 1.0.1
Aman Check 1.0.1
Corrections from a full review. The report says less when it knows less: nothing turns green without proof.
- Verdicts: a component the model should have (battery, built-in camera, Touch ID) but the Mac does not report is a problem. “No Apple Account signed in” is never green without proof; “no MDM signal” is neutral information. The battery cross-check never downgrades a problem. Storage describes the drive that holds the boot volume.
- Privacy: MDM and SIP results keep a normalized value, never the command output; audio tests record the device category, never its name.
- Guided tests: no green with a partial port test (hubs do not count); JIS keyboards; a camera that shows nothing can always be reported; screen and Touch ID tests only on Macs with a built-in display; tests done before the first analysis are kept.
- Online report (level 2): hidden in this version until the service's real address is set.
- Small fixes: time zone in timestamps, a saved JSON is never overwritten, permission texts translated into all 18 languages. Shared engine updated with the Aman Disk 1.0.1 fixes.

Aman Check 1.0.0
Aman Check 1.0.0
First public release. A dated, honest condition report for a used Mac, written for non-technical people.
- Automatic analysis: Activation Lock, Apple Account signed in, MDM, firmware password, SIP, FileVault, virtual machine, configuration profiles, security chip; battery cycles and capacity; S.M.A.R.T. health of the SSD (Aman Disk engine); model, chip, memory, storage, display, macOS.
- Guided tests: display, keyboard, Touch Bar, trackpad, speakers, microphone, camera, Touch ID, ports.
- Report: PDF (A4) and JSON export. Counters only, no global score; every value shows where it comes from; a missing value is never green; serial number limited to its last 4 characters.
- Private: no network at level 1, nothing changed on the Mac, no administrator password.
- 18 languages, right-to-left layout for Arabic.
- Optional verifiable online report (level 2) is implemented in the app and in
server/, but the service is not deployed yet.
