Boxroom Studio 1.7.0
Boxroom Studio 1.7.0
This release adds profile-based ROM library importing and reorganizes Studio for large custom game collections.
Profiles and ROM importing
- Added reusable launch profiles with file extensions, executable, argument template, platform, and IGDB console selection.
- Added Load ROM Folder for scanning a folder with a selected profile.
- Uses the profile's IGDB console to improve title matching.
- Automatically accepts a single likely match and sends ambiguous matches to review.
- Added an IGDB review window with cover previews and a working cancel action.
- Stores the source file and launch profile in
meta.helper.jsonfor reliable duplicate detection. - Newly imported games appear in Studio immediately without restarting.
Library management
- Separated the game browser into Steam Games, Custom, and named profile libraries.
- Search and multi-selection operate within the selected library.
- Added confirmed bulk deletion for selected custom games.
- Removed the old Show Steam Games toggle.
Other changes
- Reorganized Settings into General, Profiles, and Online Services tabs.
- Removed Studio's retired internal updater; BoxMate now owns installation and updates.
- Improved IGDB request retries, connection handling, and artwork downloads.
- Renamed the internal custom cache ID helper to clarify that negative cache IDs are not Steam AppIDs.
- Updated documentation for BoxMate and the FamilyOwned Steam URL launcher requirement.
Existing BOXROOM cache entries remain supported. Games without an assigned profile appear under Custom.
