Headent Client 1.0.1

Maintenance release with audio-sync fixes, stability improvements and Android 16 support.
Available on Google Play.

What's fixed

  • Audio sync (HTSP) — audio no longer lags behind the video on live streams.
The player now lets libVLC align A/V itself instead of forcing frame timing,
so sound stays in sync on phones, TV boxes and Android TV.
  • Crash on restart — fixed an out-of-memory crash in the HTSP parser that
could occur when the app was closed and reopened quickly, or reopened while
still loading. The parser now rejects malformed/partial data instead of
allocating huge buffers, and the connection is closed cleanly on exit.
  • Empty EPG after interrupted load — only complete metadata is cached now,
so closing the app mid-load no longer leaves the guide blank on next start.
  • TV home scrolling — when the top buttons (Watch / TV guide) are focused,
the list stays at the top so the date and time header remains visible.

Improvements

  • Adjustable network buffer — new Small / Medium / Large setting for smoother
playback on Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  • Faster startup & better caching — the app reuses loaded data instead of
    re-fetching it on every open.
  • Android 16 (API 36) — updated to meet Google Play's target API requirement.
  • Removed unused code (manual audio-delay / desync options) and cleaned up the player.
  • Improved translations across all 31 languages.

Which APK do I need?

  • HeadentClient-1.0.1-arm64-v8a.apk — for almost everything made since
roughly 2016: current Android TV boxes, Google TV / Chromecast, NVIDIA Shield,
Fire TV, and all modern phones and tablets. Start with this one.
  • HeadentClient-1.0.1-armeabi-v7a.apk — for 32-bit devices: older or
budget Amlogic / Rockchip / Allwinner boxes and older phones. Some boxes have
a 64-bit chip but still run a 32-bit Android build, so this is the one you
need if the other refuses to install.

If your device says "app not compatible" with one file, download the other —
that message almost always means the wrong architecture, not a broken download.
Installing from Google Play needs none of this; Play picks the right build
automatically.

Notes

  • Requires a running Tvheadend server (4.2+ recommended).
  • Two APKs are attached for sideloading — see "Which APK do I need?" above.
On Google Play the app is delivered as optimized per-device splits.
