Release list
OpenModelDB Upscaler 1.0.1
Core fix — AI runtime (the “missing venv” problem)
- Thin Setup/Portable builds again: no multi‑GB Python env inside the EXE
- First-use Setup downloads CUDA PyTorch + Spandrel (~4.5 GB)
- Scans/reuses existing Python when possible (UPSCALER_PYTHON, AppData venv, PATH, etc.)
- Isolated AppData (or portable data) venv by default
- Download cache in Downloads\OpenModelDB-Upscaler-Cache (Defender-friendlier)
- Live progress (stage, stats, console) during runtime install
- Cancel install clears incomplete AppData venv + cache
- Cache cleared after successful setup
Setup tab
- Dedicated Setup tab (renamed from Runtime), last in tab order
- Other tabs locked until runtime is ready
- Status badge, info cards, step list, active interpreter, console
- Browse venv… for existing envs (e.g. ComfyUI / Stability Matrix)
- Install missing packages into AppData (isolated) or selected env
- Rescan / open data folder / open cache
- Uninstall never deletes a browsed third-party env
Upscale fixes
- float16/float32 dtype match (fixes CUDA half-model crashes)
- ×1 factor for 1× / PBR / restoration models
- Always run the model at least once (even when size doesn’t grow)
Upscale UX
- Tile size 1024
- Custom longest-side resolution (64–16384)
- Factor ×1 chip
OpenModelDB
- Pagination (← / →) beyond the first 36 models
- Ranking by preview quality + name (not “latest”)
Windows installer / branding
- Custom NSIS look (#111117 + logo sidebars/header)
- Installer progress/details visible (not a silent blue stock panel)
- Uninstall prompt: keep or wipe AppData + download cache only
- In-place upgrade over existing install (overwrite program files, keep AppData; no duplicate install / no manual uninstall)
- Shortcuts refreshed on reinstall
Docs / tooling
- Full README (Setup, existing env, NVIDIA-only, upgrade, uninstall)
- Local-only set-version.bat (gitignored) for bumping package.json version
