Releases: MindMints/Sukoon-updates

Sukoon 1.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@MindMints MindMints released this 25 Jul 12:56

A redesigned day timeline.

  • Every prayer is labeled again — 1.6 could hide Maghrib's name on the timeline; sorry about that.
  • Five evenly-spaced stations — Fajr through Isha each get equal room, in Arabic and English alike, so labels never crowd or overlap. The sun still tracks real time as it travels toward the next prayer.

Notarized Developer ID build (macOS 14+, universal). Existing 1.3+ installs update automatically via Sparkle.

@MindMints MindMints released this 25 Jul 11:24

Location accuracy and first-run fixes, straight from user feedback.

  • City search loads as you type — no more pressing Return and wondering; the magnifier works too.
  • Exact city out of the box — first-run setup now uses on-device Location Services (with your permission), so Dubai no longer shows up as Abu Dhabi. When the approximate mode is in use, Sukoon says so and points to the fix.
  • The onboarding Allow button always works — if macOS already blocked notifications, it now takes you straight to System Settings with clear steps instead of doing nothing.
  • Travel suggestions as notifications — when your country's prayer-time convention differs, you'll know without opening the popover.
  • Cleaner Arabic — no duplicated English + Arabic prayer names in Arabic, and timeline labels no longer overlap on short evenings.

Notarized Developer ID build (macOS 14+, universal). Existing 1.3+ installs update automatically via Sparkle.

Sukoon 1.5

@MindMints MindMints released this 20 Jul 19:59

A polish release driven by a comprehensive UI/UX audit — 31 fixes.

Highlights

  • Accent colors now work — all six accents recolor the entire app, light and dark.
  • The adhan panel no longer steals keyboard focus — it appears without interrupting your typing.
  • Honest qibla screen — a clear bearing in ° from North with a practical hint; removed compass claims a Mac can't fulfill.
  • Accessibility: VoiceOver and keyboard access for every control, WCAG-passing small-text contrast, larger click targets.
  • 12/24-hour clock follows your macOS preference, app and widgets.

Also fixed

Popover density setting, localized prayer names in the main list (Türkçe/اردو/Indonesia/Français), star-to-save cities, download retry on failure, undo-aware prayer logging, dark-mode readability (Ramadan, first-run, banners), persistent tasbih count, first-run flow with granted-state checkmarks, calmer notification scheduling, widget follows your location and localizes fully.

macOS 14+ · Universal · Notarized. Existing users update automatically.

Sukoon 1.4

@MindMints MindMints released this 20 Jul 08:42

The biggest Sukoon update yet — and the first notarized release: macOS installs it with no security warnings.

New

  • Meeting-aware adhan — the adhan silences itself when your microphone is in use, so it never interrupts a call. The panel still appears.
  • Mark prayed from the notification — log a prayer straight from the prayer-time notification.
  • Tap-to-log on widgets — check off prayers right on the medium and large widgets.
  • After-adhan dua — when the adhan finishes, the panel lingers with the dua between adhan and iqama.
  • Travel mode — when you change country, Sukoon offers the locally-used calculation method.
  • Precise location (opt-in) — exact times and qibla via macOS Location Services; your location never leaves your Mac.
  • Shortcuts & Siri — "Next Prayer" and "Log Prayer" intents, with recipes in Settings.
  • Four new languages — اردو (Urdu), Türkçe, Bahasa Indonesia, Français, joining English and العربية.
  • Year in review — yearly stats in the Statistics window with a shareable card.

Improved

  • The adhan panel's text now follows the recording phrase-by-phrase (measured per reciter, including the Fajr tathwib).
  • Prayer times keep working offline from your last known location.
  • Menu-bar icon shows a playing state during the adhan.
  • Better first-run screens and clear banners when location or notifications need attention.
