TotalDebug 3.0.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge 21.1.250 or newer. Requires Windows x64 and a full Java 21 JDK.

This is a paired mod and Companion update. The connection protocol has changed; update both applications together.

Changes

  • Improved Java completion, typed postfix templates, and complete-statement editing with Ctrl+Shift+Enter, including multiline lambda bodies.
  • Inline diagnostics, refined syntax highlighting, and better breakpoint condition completion and script selection.
  • Script and folder creation, rename, deletion, duplication, and drag-and-drop moves, with compact folder and package chains.
  • Reworked notifications, script activity, service-status controls, settings access, resize targets, and theme handling.
  • More reliable standalone startup, automatic connection, reconnect, runtime refresh, project switching, and cached offline browsing.
  • A Play action for the selected Prism instance, plus matching Companion and script icons.
  • File-operation and debugger fixes covering external edits, stale navigation, moved script references, and connection cleanup.

Update from 2.x

  1. Close Minecraft and Companion.
  2. Replace the old TotalDebug mod JAR in the instance's mods/ directory with total_debug.jar. Keep only one TotalDebug mod JAR installed.
  3. Replace total-debug/companion-app/TotalDebugCompanion.jar with the Companion JAR attached here. Alternatively, remove the old Companion JAR and press F6 after launching Minecraft to download the matching version.
  4. If you run Companion or its MCP sidecar from another location, update that copy too.

Keep the rest of the instance's total-debug directory to retain scripts and project data. Existing Companion JARs are intentionally not overwritten by the automatic installer.

Downloads

  • total_debug.jar: Minecraft mod.
  • TotalDebugCompanion.jar: matching desktop application.
  • The .sha256 files contain checksums for the two JARs.
