Releases: MinecraftDEdition/Minecraft-D-Edition
Release list
Minecraft D Edition - Test Build
Windows install
Download Minecraft.D.Edition.Setup.exe and run it. The approximately 2 MB setup program installs the Minecraft D Edition launcher, which securely downloads and verifies the real game files from this GitHub release.
The Windows launcher checks this release automatically and downloads only the content shards containing files that changed. Worlds, options, screenshots, and EOS settings are preserved.
macOS install (Apple Silicon test)
Download Minecraft.D.Edition-macOS-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Minecraft D Edition into the Applications folder shown in the disk image. Launch the game from Applications, Spotlight, or Launchpad afterward; there is no folder to unzip or executable to hunt down.
This build supports Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4, and newer) running macOS 12 or later. It uses the native Vulkan renderer through MoltenVK, SDL3/Cocoa input and windows, and Core Audio.
The app checks for updates when it starts. Available Mac patches are presented by the built-in updater and are cryptographically verified before installation.
Because this small-group test build is ad-hoc signed rather than Apple-notarized, the first launch may require Control-clicking the app and choosing Open, or choosing Open Anyway in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
The automated Mac package currently supports local/TCP multiplayer but does not yet embed the licensed macOS Epic Online Services SDK, so EOS relay/invite play will report unavailable in this first test.
Release infrastructure
The mde-shard-*, manifest, pointer, and mde-macos-appcast.xml assets are updater infrastructure; players should not download them manually.
Windows requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- DirectX 12-capable graphics hardware
- Internet access for first installation and updates
The Windows test build is currently unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may display a warning.
