PerfChecker for VS Code 1.0.0 brings the Studio, suite configuration, interactive results and plots, and MCP advisor workflows into VS Code.
Requires VS Code 1.96 or newer and PerfChecker.jl 1.0.0, now available in the Julia General registry. MCP advice and implementation also require the provider dependencies described in the configuration guide.
Start in advice mode, review the proposal, then choose whether to apply it. The implementation workflow uses an isolated workspace and a Git checkpoint before applying changes, with an explicit restore action.
Install this release with VS Code's Extensions → Install from VSIX… command.
Validation of this exact source:
- 66 fresh automated tests passed; three optional tests were skipped.
- Three Chromium suites passed for the production webviews.
- An integration using PerfChecker.jl 1.0.0 installed from General passed discovery, read-only MCP advice, isolated implementation, reviewed application and exact restoration of source bytes, Git index and HEAD. The MCP provider was a deterministic test fixture.
- The Julia correctness oracle preserved the result and reduced allocations from 8072 bytes to zero; restoration returned to the original measurement.
- The exact commit also passed the existing Ubuntu and Windows extension CI, including native cancellation checks.
- The VSIX was compiled and packaged from the clean source below, and its contents were checked against the compiled production files.
