HybridEQ 1.6.13
HybridEQ 1.6.13
A console-style channel strip from OpenGrid: six-band EQ, four preamp circuits (Brit, N-Type, FSF, A-Type), harmonic saturation and mid/side processing, with versatile oversampling and analogue filter options.
What's new
- Direct Toggle Controls:
- Slope, Mid/Side, Band Type, and Preamp Pad keys now toggle directly on left-click (
cycleNext()) for fast hardware-style operation. Right-click continues to open the full popup menu for instant direct selection.
- Slope, Mid/Side, Band Type, and Preamp Pad keys now toggle directly on left-click (
- Preamp Type Menu:
- Retains convenient dropdown menu operation, reordered with
Offfirst on the list andBritas the initial default.
- Retains convenient dropdown menu operation, reordered with
- 2x Oversampling:
- Added
2xas a direct user-selectable oversampling option alongside1x,4x, and8x.
- Added
- Selectable Anti-Aliasing Filter Mode:
- Added
FILTERkey in the Global section allowing instant selection between:- IIR (Min): Minimum-phase polyphase IIR filter (zero latency, analog-style phase characteristics, no pre-ringing).
- FIR (Lin): Linear-phase equiripple FIR filter (preserves exact phase relationships).
- Filter mode is active for all oversampling rates above Nyquist (2x, 4x, 8x).
- Added
- Interface & Documentation:
- Cleaned up control labeling and updated comprehensive preview captures and documentation.
Included
- Universal Mac VST3, Audio Unit, CLAP, LV2 and standalone app, in one signed and notarized installer.
- Built with JUCE 9.0.3. AAX is built locally only and is not part of the downloads.
- Licenses: the DMG contains LICENSE.txt and a Licenses folder with every third-party license text. The same files are installed to
/Library/Application Support/OpenGrid/HybridEQ/Licensesand sit inside each plug-in bundle. The binaries are freeware (BINARY_LICENSE.txt); the source is MIT.
Practical limits
Changing between modes or oversampling choices can change the plug-in's processing rate while it runs. The reported latency is set when the host prepares the plug-in, so after switching to or from Circuit HQ at 1x, stop and restart playback for sample-accurate alignment. The Circuit mode is a preview model that has not been fully validated against the HQ solver.

HybridEQ 1.6.12
HybridEQ 1.6.12
A console-style channel strip from OpenGrid: six-band EQ, four preamp circuits (Brit, N-Type, FSF, A-Type), harmonic saturation and mid/side processing, now with three ways to run the preamp.
What's new
-
Three preamp modes on one key. The CIRCUIT key steps through them on each click.
- Standard (key unlit): light static models with ADAA anti-aliasing.
- Circuit (key lit): a reduced circuit model that is light enough for 1x, with no latency.
- Circuit HQ: the full component-level solver. It raises oversampling to a 2x minimum; 4x and 8x stay available.
- Sessions saved before 1.6.12 with Circuit on open as Circuit HQ, and sound as before.
-
New interface rendering. Shaded, fluted 3D knobs, recessed rocker switches and an upgraded VU meter.
-
Universal binary. Apple silicon and Intel in one installer, macOS 11 or later.
-
Includes 1.6.11: the Oversample key shows the factor that is really running, the KNOBS style picker is developer-only again, and the Spectrum key takes the title bar's colour.
Included
- Universal Mac VST3, Audio Unit, CLAP, LV2 and standalone app, in one signed and notarized installer.
- Built with JUCE 9.0.3. AAX is built locally only and is not part of the downloads.

HybridEQ 1.6.11
HybridEQ 1.6.11 (OpenGrid), macOS Apple silicon. Signed and notarized installer: VST3, Audio Unit, CLAP, LV2 and the standalone app.
- Fixed the Oversample key: it now shows the factor that is really running, no stray
*when your own choice is in use, and it keeps updating (with Circuit on at 1x it reads2x*). - The KNOBS style picker is developer-only again and no longer appears in release builds.
- The Spectrum key in the title bar takes the title bar's colour.
- Includes 1.6.10: ADAA on the Circuit-off preamp models and a 2x oversampling floor for Circuit (4x and 8x remain available).
- Built with JUCE 9.0.3.
- Licenses: the DMG contains LICENSE.txt and a Licenses folder with every third-party license text; the same files are installed to /Library/Application Support/OpenGrid/HybridEQ/Licenses and sit inside each plug-in bundle. The binaries are freeware (BINARY_LICENSE.txt); the source is MIT.

HybridEQ 1.6.10
HybridEQ 1.6.10 (OpenGrid), macOS Apple silicon. Signed and notarized installer: VST3, Audio Unit, CLAP, LV2 and the standalone app.
- ADAA on the preamp with Circuit off. The Brit, N-Type, FSF and A-Type static models use first-order antiderivative anti-aliasing, so the harmonics they create fold back less, even at 1x (measured 5 to 14 dB lower aliasing on hard-driven tones). Quiet signals keep their level at every frequency; no added latency.
- Circuit needs only 2x. Turning "Preamp Circuit" on now raises oversampling to a 2x minimum (it was 4x). The Oversample control still offers 1x, 4x and 8x.
- Cramping-free EQ (1.6.9). The High Cut, High shelf and bells follow the analog curve near Nyquist without forcing oversampling, using least-squares biquad fits. With Oversample at 1x and Circuit off the plug-in has no latency.
- Reported latency is now set from
prepareToPlay. - Built with JUCE 9.0.3.

HybridEQ 1.6.8
HybridEQ 1.6.8 (OpenGrid), macOS Apple silicon. Signed and notarized installer: VST3, Audio Unit, CLAP, LV2 and the standalone app.
- Built with JUCE 9.0.3.
- Installer includes CLAP (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP) and LV2 (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/LV2).
- Preamps: Brit, N-Type, FSF and A-Type run as circuit simulations when "Preamp Circuit" is on (CPU-heavy; forces 4x oversampling).

- Installer includes CLAP (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP) and LV2 (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/LV2).
