Decorate icons to support wayfinding

At zoom levels where the street grid is visible, it would be interesting (and innovative) to decorate the icons to help with wayfinding.

For example, elevated subways could be shown as elongated rectangles with the ground drawn underneath them, aboveground subways with the ground above them.

Bus stops could have a dot in 1 of 8 positions around the icon to indicate which corner of the intersection the stop is located at.
