Lerxu v3.2.0-Beta4 upgrades XferRust to v0.3.3 and adds HLS (m3u8) download support: paste an m3u8 URL and Lerxu fetches the playlist, downloads the segments concurrently and assembles them into a single playable file, with variant selection, fMP4, byte-range segments and AES-128 encryption. This release also fixes the proxy setting never taking effect, downloads stalling at the last 99%, and the connection count in the connection details always showing 1.

The desktop client gains HLS quality and write-mode options plus a dedicated "M3U8 (HLS)" card in Preferences, and all byte/speed figures now use decimal (1000-based) units. The Android client adds ad blocking and a native video player. The browser extension is updated to v1.7.2, where sniffed m3u8 playlists get their own highlighted entry.

  • Significantly improved BitTorrent download speeds. In testing with the same torrent, the peak speed increased from less than 1 MB/s to 17.1 MB/s

  • Fixed an issue where BitTorrent download speeds were significantly lower than other clients: previously, IPv6 peers returned by trackers were discarded entirely, and requests to trackers only used IPv4. Both are now supported, with tracker requests sent over both IPv4 and IPv6 and the results merged

  • Fixed DHT being largely non-functional (DHT can discover peers without relying on trackers): on macOS, DHT previously always fell back to IPv4-only mode, and query results were silently discarded. DHT can now work normally. Query timeout has been reduced from 10 seconds to 3 seconds, and node discovery at startup is now performed concurrently for faster cold starts

  • Fixed uTP connections, UDP trackers, and incoming BitTorrent connections being completely unavailable on IPv6 networks: connections to IPv6 peers would always fail and only fall back after waiting through an entire timeout cycle

  • Fixed HTTPS connections completely failing in environments with self-signed certificates or enterprise proxies (TLS interception): certificate verification now includes the system's local root certificates, while verification behavior for public websites remains unchanged

  • Fixed an issue where some files would show 100% progress while being corrupted: when disk caching was enabled, pieces that had not actually been written to disk were previously marked as completed. After a crash or power loss, these pieces would be skipped during recovery, leaving holes in the file. Only pieces that have actually been written to disk are now counted toward progress

  • Fixed an issue where HTTP segmented downloads could occasionally show as completed without downloading a single byte: incomplete files could previously be left behind while being reported as successfully downloaded. They are now correctly re-downloaded and completed

  • Fixed an incorrect storage location for multi-file torrents containing only one file: the file previously occupied a location that should have been a directory, causing behavior inconsistent with other download clients and preventing continued seeding. Previously downloaded data is automatically migrated after the upgrade without requiring a re-download

  • Fixed file path display and file verification for single-file torrents: the Details page previously displayed a non-existent path, causing verification to always report "File missing"

  • Fixed two incorrect pieces of information announced by DHT: the announced port was not actually being listened on, and IPv6 peers were incorrectly announced as 0.0.0.0, causing remote peers to attempt to connect to themselves

  • Fixed NAT-PMP TCP port mapping never taking effect (previously only UPnP worked), making seeding and accepting incoming connections behind routers more reliable

  • Fixed engine crashes when the number of version digits increased (such as 0.10.0), as well as crashes after enabling DHT persistence
