Relay v1.0.0
Relay is a local-first file transfer app for Windows and Android. It sends
files and folders directly between your PC and phone over the same Wi-Fi
network or a mobile hotspot — no cloud storage, no account, and no
internet server in between.
What's in v1.0.0
- Automatic device discovery on the local network, plus QR-code pairing
with desktop-side approval - Send or receive single files, multiple files, or whole folders (nested
subfolders included) in either direction - Real-time transfer progress, cancellation, and per-platform Clear History
- Desktop Shared Files management (share, refresh, unshare, manage
received items) - Android: rename this device, choose a custom download folder, and
"Forget This Desktop" to recover from a stale connection (e.g. after
switching networks) without reinstalling
Downloads
- Windows —
Relay-Setup-1.0.0.exe: a per-user installer, no admin
rights required. Download, run it, launch Relay, then pair with the
Android app. - Android —
Relay-1.0.0.apk: installed directly, not via Google Play.
Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network or the same mobile
hotspot to pair and transfer.
Before you install
- Windows: the installer isn't code-signed, so SmartScreen will likely
show an "unrecognized publisher" warning on first run. Choose "More
info" → "Run anyway" if you trust the source. - Android: this APK is distributed directly, not through Google Play.
Your phone will ask you to allow installs from whichever app you used to
download it, a normal step for an app installed outside the Play
Store. Play Protect may also scan the file before installing. - Relay updates manually on both platforms — download a newer release and
install it over the old one.
