Monet is no longer just an AI video editor.

This release adds Monet Canvas — an artboard-based design surface alongside the video editor. Use Claude Code or Codex from the embedded terminal to draw vector graphics, simulate 2D physics, or build live HTML/CSS designs. Rendered frames auto-import into the video timeline media library, so designs flow straight into your edit.

Highlights

Monet Canvas

  • Three artboard modes — html, paperjs (Paper.js), matterjs (Matter.js)
  • Inline-bundled libraries — works offline, no CDN dependency
  • Live per-frame loading overlay so you can watch the agent work
  • Figma-style click-and-drag panning on the canvas viewport
  • Canvas state export/import as JSON; per-frame PNG render
  • Frames auto-import into the video editor media library
  • Both Paper.js and Matter.js full APIs available to agents

Agent control

  • New editorctl canvas-* commands (add-frame, run-paperjs, run-matterjs, render-png, export, import, add-image, loading, done, frames, set-zoom, clear)
  • HTTP API bridge endpoints for every canvas operation
  • Auto port-discovery — multiple Monet instances no longer fight over port 51847
  • UserPromptSubmit hook injects current activeView (canvas vs editor) into the agent's context every turn
  • Agent context (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, MONET_AGENT_CONTEXT.md) ships full Paper.js + Matter.js + Remotion API references

Editor improvements

  • Shared terminal panel — PTY session persists when switching between Video Editor and Canvas
  • Terminal toggle moved to a dedicated button next to view switcher
  • New Remotion compositions: `PaperCanvas` and `PhysicsScene` for rendering canvas-style designs as video clips
  • Autoplay policy fix — playback no longer silently pauses on clip transitions, audio plays correctly
