TextWriter 1.0.0

TextWriter is a distraction-free, fullscreen writing environment inspired by
Dark Room and WordStar. Documents remain ordinary .txt or .md files, and
the app works entirely offline.

Downloads

  • Windows 10/11, 64-bit: standard installer or portable ZIP
  • macOS, Apple Silicon: DMG for M-series Macs; Intel Macs are not supported
  • Linux, 64-bit: AppImage, Debian package, or RPM package

The Windows and macOS downloads are not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen and
macOS Gatekeeper may therefore warn before first launch. Download only from
this official release, verify the file against SHA256SUMS.txt, and proceed
only if you are comfortable accepting the unsigned build.

Make it your own

TextWriter is open source under the MIT License. Fork it, reshape it, add the
features you want, or carry the idea in an entirely new direction. The code is
there to be used.
