@MooreSi MooreSi released this 09 Oct 11:32

HomeBoard v0.2 brings a compact family calendar, a scrolling RSS news ticker and managed software updates.

  • Settings → Updates & about compares the installed commit with GitHub main, offers updates and downloads/tests them before restarting the dashboard and update controller.
  • Git is included in Docker and Proxmox installation; local setup checks and installs supported Git prerequisites. Settings, credentials and uploaded photos persist. Verification failure retains the running version; startup failure restores the previous version and JSON data.
  • Calendar whitespace is reduced so the bottom ticker remains visible. News supports pause/resume, keyboard/hover pause and reduced-motion preferences.
  • Microsoft/Google calendar connections, Outlook ICS links, Apple iCloud shared albums, 16 themes, slideshow settings, OpenWeather forecasts and local/Docker/LXC installation are included.
  • MIT licence, repository About information and README screenshots added.

Validation: 69 tests passed locally and in Docker; 37 JavaScript files and installer shell syntax checked. GitHub Actions passed verification, Docker build and all image tests. A real GitHub update to this commit successfully downloaded, verified and restarted both dashboard and controller inside Docker. Settings and credentials remained byte-for-byte unchanged, and the installed commit survived a container restart. Browser layouts checked at 1280×720 and 768×1024; BBC RSS ticker pause/resume tested.

Not yet verified on physical tablets or a fresh Proxmox host; live OAuth consent, Apple source permissions/availability and a subscribed OpenWeather account require those accounts/devices. The updater follows main and updates application/npm code; runtime/OS upgrades require rerunning setup or rebuilding Docker.
