Releases: MowkE/cadence
Release list
Cadence 3.4.7
Windows fix, take two.
- The "only show the gear and Remix button while hovering" setting hid the buttons at launch but they stayed visible after the first hover. They now hide again within a quarter second of the cursor leaving the overlay.
Cadence 3.4.6
Windows fix.
- The "only show the gear and Remix button while hovering" setting now works on Windows. The buttons appear when your cursor is over the overlay and hide when it leaves.
Cadence 3.4.5
Fixes for everyone.
- Windows. Closing Cadence and opening it again works without restarting your PC.
- Click-through lock leaves the gear clickable, so you can always turn it off.
- Hold the gear for 5 seconds to quit.
- The color picker opens inside the panel instead of behind the overlay.
- Minimal style. Card in any color, any opacity, or fully transparent.
- Listen counts. Replays count, pauses and relaunches do not.
- Beat tap is gone.
Cadence 3.4.4
- Fix: since 3.4.1 the overlay went dim and lost its frame and motion whenever Cadence wasn't the focused app — which for a click-through overlay is almost always. It's back to full brightness by default, and there's a new Overlay when idle slider under System if you want it to fade while you work.
- Minimal lyric style — the clean Spotify / Musixmatch look: one bold sans, white current line, quiet card. Under Lyric style.
- The ✳ Remix button now follows the gear's hover-only / idle-opacity settings.
Cadence 3.4.3 — Discord
Cadence has a Discord now: https://discord.gg/w3GWuF3Psm — song requests, listen-along rooms, feature ideas, first dibs on what ships next. There's a Join the Discord button under Social in settings.
Cadence 3.4.2
- Pick your own @handle when you first sign in — live availability, permanent, unique. (Existing accounts keep theirs.)
- Settings gear visibility (System tab): show it only while hovering the overlay, and set how visible it is when idle.
- Owner tools for account upkeep.
Cadence 3.4.1 — Windows optimizations
Windows optimizations and bug fixes. Auto-contrast now paces itself by how long each screen sample actually takes (and skips minimized windows), and the Windows media session no longer re-ships album art on every poll — lighter on CPU, snappier overlay. Plus Remix shortcut fixes. Cadence updates itself; nothing to do.
Cadence 3.4.0 — silly 8-bit scenes
Remix got silly. Ten 8-bit playgrounds in Remix Studio — capybara spa, cloud laundry, duck quest, frog concert, moon dumpling, mushroom mail, sleepy arcade, sock planet, tiny kaiju, toast train — each with its own little cast, plus seven layers of pixel weather you can mix and six living backgrounds. Press ✳ Remix on the overlay.
Listen along now shows who's in the room with their photos, on both the host's and guests' side.
Also: lyrics flip light/dark faster over bright windows, and some Remix shortcut polish.
Cadence 3.3.0 — 300 download special
300 downloads!! Thank you.
Remix Studio. Press ✳ Remix on the overlay: drag the artwork, lyrics and label anywhere, pick a material (rain glass, liquid chrome, ink & paper, departure board, clear), set how the overlay behaves as you approach it, and save or share your look as an Edition — plus really cool Studio Ghibli–esque scenes.
Listen along with your friends completely works now, and it works for large groups.
Also: Cadence can now show you announcements like this one in-app, and the owner's download counter no longer resets.
Cadence 3.2.0
Two things a Reddit user asked for:
Pear Desktop support. Using the YouTube Music desktop app (Pear Desktop, formerly youtube-music)? Turn on its API Server plugin, click Allow when Cadence asks once, and Cadence reads the song, timing, art and controls straight from it — on Mac, Windows and Linux alike, no browser needed. Pear's own Synced Lyrics plugin can stay on.
Lyrics only. A switch under Layout that hides the album art, ring and visualizer so the words take the whole card, in any layout.
